Dunwich Horror #73 "Clover Club Cardroom" Question

By caelenvasius, in Arkham Horror: The Card Game

I've got a question about this card...what is the value of zero in this game? Technically zero is neither even nor odd, so the zero-valued chaos tokens in the chaos bag can't be resolved when triggering this action. The FAQ doesn't cover this yet...

Yeah, zero is an even number, you're WAY overthinking it.

The problem is that zero's parity and its value are not the same; zero's parity is even, but its value can't be either. It was my mistake to read the card using its value when every other reference to a number on that card uses that number's parity.

Thanks everyone for getting me to fix my own conclusion.

Zero's value is 0, which is even as well.

I'm really confused what you mean. Parity is a property of the value - it just means "is this value odd or even?" Zero is even; zero's value is even; zero's parity is that it's an even number. These are all synonymous statements.

Zero is neither positive nor negative. Is that what you're thinking of?

By definition an even number p is given by p = 2n, where n is an integer. Let n = 0, then p = 2*0 = 0. Hence, zero is an even number by definition. QED
