Let's talk about Grit...

Does Grit needs a Grand Strategy?

I mean, I limited my use of Grit to: "Oh Hey, let me Jump on those Two A-Wings there, because once I kill one, I can move away... Doubly so if I do it with my Attack of the Turn and then Move, to make you Chase me." With a YV-666....

I think Dras might be on to something that can be used for cloak here though....

It seems like Ten Numb would like being a part of a Grit force. Grit forces clumping, Ten blasts the clump. Or they dont clump because of Ten and Grit squads go on their merry way. May have to try this. :)

Well as you said before Grit is pretty much out shine by intel which not only keeps you from being tied down by 2 ore more squadrons but also keeps other squadrons around you from being tied down as well. Same problem cloak has. Sure this squadron cannot get tied down but every other squadron can.

I have a suggestion.

Run (fur example) 2 TIE 2 ADV 2 YV into a simulated dogfight.

Try vs different opposing squads, trying out different positioning too.

Note how grit becomes more useful if you commit the grit squads last, and also how their usefulness climbs as enemy squads die off.

Jonus's Grit has only been very helpful for me. When running a minimalist fighter ball and using Jonus as a target marker, your opponent needs to commit 2 squads to tie him down. Often, that helps your fighter ball do much better. Opponent's also often overlook grit, which has allowed Jonus to slip off time and time again. I've had Marek trigger grit a few times as well. Like others have mentioned, engaging later with the grit squads, often means they can move off later without needed your one or two sources of intel to help. With groups squads being dangerous at time, I see grit's stock rising.

To use a chess analogy, squadrons with "Grit" are the rooks of Armada. After the squadron scrum is over and the board is a bit more clear, squadrons with grit are harder to pin down.

I think Lancers can be great in the end game. A speed-4, black-die bomber with grit and rogue? Add a board that's low on enemy squadrons, and I think you're looking at a pretty effective threat.

Thats actually funny for a 4 hull bomber
