Starting a new SoB campaign, and just wanted to make sure I remembered something correctly since we are doing our initial campaign setup of drawing heroes and skills via email to save time (yes it works if your players trust you )

Initial Skill draw: I know its draw whatever is on your hero card and then one more from any deck. You then discard three of them.

What I can't remember is do:

A) All heroes draw four first and then discard

or

B) Hero A draw four, discards three of them to their piles. You shuffle the skills and then Hero B draws four. Repeat.

The rulebook is somewhat vague or maybe its just my reading of it being vague. I think its A, but I've known people who have done B.

Never mind...got smart and went and looked at the JitD rules. Its choice B.

In RtL, it is A. From the RtL rulebook, page 8:

"[...Shuffling...]. Then each hero player draws the skill cards indicated on his hero sheet, plus one extra skill from the skill deck of his choice. Heroes begin the campaign with only one skill, however, so each hero player then [then = after the previous sentence has taken place, thus after each hero player has drawn 4 skills] chooses one of these skill cards to keep and discards the others back to their appropriate decks."

of more intrest what charcters and skills did they choose.in our SOB campaign we may have chosen some wrong skills,and heroes of cause.

we have landrec the wise his skill is mata and kata.it was that or necromancy or one of the new ones that resets when you get a glyph we are not sure about them due to only one glyph per lvl

we have karnon with shark tatoo (it was him or nakok or some useless 8 health guy

we have silhouette and he took the cannon skill card may have been a mistake as we haven't used a cannon yet in 5 or 6 turns of play

and tahlia with ox tatoo

the warriors have been great

as has the mage

silhoutte at this time isn't much use until a good weapon comes up

we also made some mistakes early on and decided to wait the first turn in town to buy stuff and geta look at some traesures

but the is no alchemist at the start town and i has a shop value of 1

but we did luck out with the treasure we got the copper breath weapon treasure.

and we did all 3 lvls of the first dungeon.we got a treasure out of each chest and came out with more conquest than the OL.
