So we've had 5 World Championships between 10 Waves and we've had exactly 5 different lists win; the Meta will change, lists continue to evolve and fixes will be made by the developers as of now the game is fine.

Why do people always call for new editions? Ships are just starting to become unique instead of copy paste of other ships. Unique titles give ships there own style. I'm thinking the new epic scum will start getting people interested in more Epic. This game still has plenty of life

Because they are used to other tabletop games like 40k or WarmaHorders that use new editions to force through sweeping changes. FFG uses a constantly updated FAQ to change things (something the other games don't do, or at least don't update nearly as often) rather than a completely new edition. The game as a whole is not yet at the point where a new edition would be beneficial- with the consistent level of interaction that the developers have it is not needed. If FFG was more hands-off and didn't choose to FAQ the game or update the players, then a new edition might be needed.

It will have to be done at some point. Most popular wargames had like 5 or 6 editions. Models will still be usable i guess. When we will reach the point of almost unplayability and impossible to get in for new players, i say we will get 2nd edition.

If you think someone is trolling then don't respond; it is better than being rude. If it is a troll and you don't respond the thread will die. If not, then it allows decent people to engage in ideas and share opinions, something that I would think you would encourage rather than be against.

I don't know if the OP is trolling. There has been a lot of talk about how unbalanced or microbalanced the game is. How one squad dominates the meta until another comes out. How RPSLS the game is. How overly complex the overwhelming interactions are between the endless upgrade cards. Asking when a 2.0 might be released may be a response to the constant complaining about the game on this forum. Where, other than this forum, should someone take a discussion about this game?

Me I like the game, not all of it as there is more than a few things I don't care for. I wouldn't mind seeing some things cleaned up. Now or later? I don't know.

Honestly not looking forward to any concept of a 2.0 given how much I have invested, even if it were some kinda print on demand deal I would probably need to drop hundreds of dollars to upgrade my fleet.

Eventually the game will need a cohesive revision. Otherwise, the game will collapse under the weight of all the sequential releases. The designers would be stupid to NOT reexamine the game as a whole at some point and make a sum-total tune up.

Because otherwise, there's no reason to call it 2.0.

While the OP might lack arguments there might be some merit to the idea of a 2.nd edition. many of the games i have loved the most over many years of wargaming have been improved tremendously by a second edition. Making a second edition is an opportunity to streamline and clean up a design as well as re-addressing a lot of the imbalances and unforeseen mechanisms that occur - and applying all the amassed experience of the first ed. into the next . X-wing started out as a simple, fast playing dogfight game that made table-top gaming accessible. For me that game is gone by now and a 2. edition would be most welcome. until that I play Armada as a tournament game and X-wing using mostly OT ships for the fun of it - playing scenarios and HotAC.

FFG has produces 2nd (and some times 3rd and 4th) editions of several of their games - and the result is always better.. Off course they would have to make a "transition" box making it possible to use your 1st ed ships´ in order to not alienate their userbase and existing customer
