I've been having a lot of fun testing this one solo. My imperial opponent list is pretty weak though since I mostly have rebel ships. May have to start pitting rebel v rebel for future testing. Anyway, this thing cleared the board of TIE fighters with ease.

I'm still somewhat new to X-Wing, so I'm posting this list to make sure I'm not missing anything obvious. I think the Rey and Poe builds are already pretty popular, with slight variations. My specific choices were to use Lone Wolf on Rey for when the enemy is not in the primary arc to keep up the offense and defense. For Poe, I had to choose between PS9 version or the primed thrusters and black one. I went with the latter because I like having more flexibility to BB-8's ability even while stressed. The Black One title is just icing on the cake.

Good purchase. It's a great expansion. IMO, Lone Wolf is wasted on Rey given her pilot ability. With Kanan and the TFA title, I find it rather easy to keep enemies in Rey's firing arc without needing to do a large ship boost. If it were me, I'd drop EU and Lone Wolf in favor of Expertise (4), Smuggling Compartment (0), and either Inertial Dampeners (1) or Black Market Slicer Tools (1). Expertise is great on Rey. It frees her up to take a focus on defense which can really help her D especially when she's taking shots through her front firing arc and you can get that Rey/Finn synergy going. I love Dampeners on this build but BMST is pretty sweet too. That brings you to 99 points leaving some room for initiative.

If you're going to stick with a 40pt PS8 Poe build, you might want to consider Regen Poe instead of Triple Action Poe :

Rey (45)
Expertise (4)
Finn (5)
Kanan Jarrus (3)
TFA Title (1)
Smuggling Compartment (0)
ID (1) or BMST (1)

Poe (31)
Predator (3)
R2D2 (4)
Pattern Analyzer (2)
Integrated Astromech (0)

99 pts

Thanks for the tips, RevJJ. I think I was finding Rey's shots out of arc a lot in my testing because the lower PS TIE fighters would throw a blocker in to prevent the 3 bank maneuver. However, I think my asteroid layout could have been spaced out further, so I'll give expertise a try! Plus, the dampeners look like they play nice with Kanan. Regen Poe also looks pretty cool.

Why the pattern analyzer on Poe?

Edited by sojo2600

Poe's pilot ability is predicated on him having a focus token. Pattern Analyzer (PA) basically allows Poe to take an action after he executes a red maneuver. That means he can take a focus token when he makes a talon roll or a k-turn. And with Predator, you're still getting your dice mods. Kanan can help open up Poe's dial the following round if the Falcon doesn't need to sloop or blow off its own stress.

Also with pattern analyzer and Push the Limit you can dial a green, delay the check pilot stress step, focus and boost or target lock grab a stress and then at the check pilot stress step you revealed a green maneuver so you lose that stress. Pretty neat.

Another cool Poe build is with R2D2, lone wolf, sensor cluster, and autothrusters. You can often get two evades (maybe 3 at range 3).

There's tons of options for a list like this; you can pretty much build it any way you want to (within reason).

For example, if you wanted to be able to fly Poe a little closer to Rey and take advantage of the black one title a little better you could...

Drop Lone wolf and engine upgrade, drop the falcon title, drop Kanan.

Add Expertise, add the original falcon title, add C-3po.

from there you could either take the 2 point bid, or you could bump Poe to a 9, or you could shave a point from somewhere and kit Rey out with either a hull upgrade (safe), or stealth device (controversial).

That particular Rey setup doesn't care so much about getting people in arc - but will still take any in-arc shots it can get.

The list you've put forwards is good, but there's a slight clash in that the black one title should really keep Poe close to Rey for maximum effect, but this of course disables lone wolf. It's not something that will break the list, but it is something to maybe look at changing.

Lone wolf on Poe is good because Rey will get burned down first. LW is especially good on a regen Poe.

I've been looking at a Poe build with Predator, R2-D2, Black One, AT's and Sensor Cluster but I quite like the idea of Lone Wolf on him. Would not work in my current list as looking at having Ahsoka pass bonus actions off to him but with Rey or another large ship (maybe a Dash build) that would make him really tough to take down

I don't know what all you have available to you, but a regen version of Poe is probably going to be necessary with Rey. This is what I current roll with for these two, pretty standard...

Rey (45)
Veteran Instincts (1)
Finn (5)
Kanan Jarrus (3)
Inertial Dampeners (1)
Smuggling Compartment (0)
Millennium Falcon (TFA) (1)

Poe Dameron (PS9) (33)
Push the Limit (3)
R5-P9 (3)
Pattern Analyzer (2)
Autothrusters (2)
Black One (1)

Lots of great ideas to try out here, thanks all. In my original build, I threw the Black One title onto Poe since it appeared that he would be boosting and/or barrel rolling every round, effectively making him almost un-lockable. Am I correct in believing that the effect works on himself? If not, the ideas you guys shared made me think of a build where Poe stays at range 1 of Rey to pull target locks and critical hits off her.

Rey (45)
Expertise (4)
Finn (5)
Kanan Jarrus (3)
Inertial Dampeners (1)
Smuggling Compartment (0)
Millennium Falcon (TFA) (1)

Poe Dameron (PS9) (33)
Draw Their Fire (1)
R2-D2 (4)
Pattern Analyzer (2)
Integrated Astromech (0)
Black One (1)

Wrong list posted

One of my personal favourite lists is this:

The Rebel Truck:

Rey

- Expertise

- Finn

- Kanan

- The Millenium Falcon (TFA)

- Tactical Jammer

Jan Ors

- Trick Shot

- Twin Laser Turret

- Ezra Bridger

- The Moldy Crow

- Shield Upgrade

Whats more fun than throwing 6 dice r1 rerolling 2 blanks and changing all focus to hits? The look on the opponent's face when his tokened TIE Striker gets 1 shotted...

I love Falcon/VCX builds. I run a Lando/Hera bit that I have yet to lose with.

Cool, can you show me the list?

Yeah, black one title can always remove target locks from Poe himself.

I use Trick Shot because I don't have A Score to Settle, but I'd rock that if I had it. Essentially it lets Hera get right up in people's faces and deal a reliable 5 target lock/focused damage per turn. Because they're the same pilot skill you can pick your shooting and moving order to best suit your needs. The TLT is just there in case I get severely outmaneuvered or something, it's not a central part of my strategy.

How do you fly them?

I didn't, someone else did. He had the Ghost flan. He took 2 turns for Rey to S-Loop twice. Staying in the same spot. Rey joined the fight late, but came in at a good angle.
