Green Objective Cards

By DarthAmmon, in Star Wars: Armada Rules Questions

Can the CC green objective cards be used for regular/tournament matches? If so, is there a particular colour card they should replace?

Kinda wanna offer opponents the chance to weave a tapestry of profanity, as they try to get their fleet through extra helpings of asteroids. ;-))

Not in tournament games. In a casual environment, you can do whatever you want provided your opponent agrees.

Bah, ah well, I'll have to give Asteroids a miss for now. lol Thanks for the quick answer! :-)

Do keep in mind that some of the green objective cards have equivalents in "regular" colours (e.g. Hyperlane Raid = Blockade Run, Show of Force = Station Assault, Base Defense: Ion Cannon = Planetary Ion Cannon). This would not make much sense if you could simply use green cards to begin with.

And you know, those base objectives are nasty. 40 points more on squadrons. Planetary Ion Cannon inside enemy deployment zone, sayonara flotilla. Extra activations and shots from the station. If your opponent choose one of these brave is not enough to him.

They are not only super nasty. The 2nd player gets to decide which one is the MOST nasty. This makes it quite difficult to take a base in CC.

And they do differ, even to their "regular" equivelants.

For example, the Green "Planetary Ion cannon" does not restrict placement of the Ion cannon targeting tokens, and you do not have to discard them to fire the Cannon - so it keeps firing. Again and again and Again.

Which is a stock Contrast to the standard Yellow "Planetary Ion cannon" mission.

This was fun when I put 2 in front of my opponent lifeboat flotilla. He asked me what I was using and I answered who cares? XD then he read the objective.

The lifeboat survives two shots because bad rolls and two VCX did the rest. Anyway I saved the base.

You mean two shots in two rounds? Or do you mean two shots in one round?

From what i understand, you can only shot once per round, no matter how many tokens are in range (same with the yellow Planetary Ion Cannon).

Two rounds. He went with 2 VCX and deployed the flotilla at speed 2 so I put two tokens at distance 3 in front of the flotilla. THe first shot was guaranteed and with two tokens the second was to as if he used the 2 VCX on 1 token to move it far away I had the other and if he moved both token he couldn't avoid the second shot as he couldn't sent the token beyond disgsmce 3 of the flotilla.

Placing tokens after deployment is deadly.
