High-Value Target

By Deadwolf, in Imperial Assault Campaign

High-Value Target is a 2 cost Agenda card in the For the Right Price Set and says: Place this card in your play area. Deplete this card when a hero is defeated. Increase the [threat] by the threat level.

I am just wondering what people think of this card?

I just finished a Jabba's Realm campaign and this card was a major factor in the back half of the campaign, especially in the finale.

My issue is with it is since it depletes and is therefore reusable, it just seems way more powerful than other 2 influence cards. Agenda cards are generally either one time strong effect or a continual minor effect. But this is a reusable strong effect.

My current thoughts are either to ban the set, or to simply reduce the threat increase to 2 or maybe 3.

Agree? Disagree?

High-Value Target is the best agenda card in the game. Unless you are not able to actually wound heroes. (Didn't work for me that well in my previous Return to Hoth campaign. It really doesn't work at all with missions without time limits -- and with MHD-19.)

But I don't think banning is necessary. It's quite random when you'll draw it and can afford it, and the heroes know when you purchase the card, so they should buy armors instead of guns.

Imperial Informants is better if you have just a few missions to go.

It is one of the best Agenda cards in the game. When I played the Core I got it early but it rarely felt like it swung an entire mission.

it is a great card. auto include in every set. Im running nemesis deck at the moment. should be able to bring vader out pretty easy with this card and a few other nemesis cards

Maybe it was a perfect storm type of deal, but I basically combined the threat from High Value Target with Imperial Informants, timed it after the rebels opened the door and I got a bunch of reserved units and things went south for the rebels from there.

But my issue is more with the reusable nature making it far stronger than all other 2 influence cards than the actual effect.

It's reusable but it gives you threat which isn't an immediate impact and may come pretty late in the game. A lot of agenda cards will let the imperials pile on more wounds some way which can often have a big impact and they can do it early, even the first round. I think it's a really good card, but so is something like Fire At Will that can give you enough burst damage to finish off an almost wounded hero or with something like arc blasters mean another chance to stun multiple heroes on the entrance on the first round.
