Parattani is way more dominant then Dengaroo or torp boats ever were. It's completely dominating regionals.
Where's all the hate for Parattani like there is for Dengaroo?
Give it time.
Also, I think the problems people had with Dengaroo weren't just to do with its power level. There was a feeling that having 1 ship do all the work in a build was broken on a different level to something just being powerful. Parattani is strong and If it keeps winning I suspect FFG may well nerf Manaroo but it still feels fairer than having your list taken apart by a single ship.
@SylinRhyas, are you looking for a bandwagon to jump on to?
There was almost no hate against X7 in the first days. Some people así "why palp and scouts are hated, but not the defenders?".
It's just a matter of time.
I would like to see the statistics on the number of players taking Parattanni to the regional to begin with.
Is it winning while being the most prevalent list at these regionals? Or is it winning these regionals despite being a minority list-type?
I have a feeling it is the former.

Does it matter?
All the former means is that people knew in advance it was their best way of winning.
It's the new hotness.....it's not Roo's fault, though her unlimited range is force-like; it's the Mindlink man, it's the Mindlink with the new Scum Ace hotness. Easy fix though: just give the Mindlink ability to the other two factions. Done. Woooo Hooooo!!

It matters to me, ya expletive.
And to those that see this meta heading the way of the meta was when Palp Aces ran everything - those lists made up 75% of lists taken to competitive events.
Guess there's nothing to be learned from history, though...
Isn't it kind of there? I hate building an Attanni list and then being like "oh yeah, Parattanni is probably still a lot better than this, so why bother?".
There is always something, is it simple to fly? I have seen the list just never flown it. Seems relatively simple. I like Manaroo because she is a support ship that supports. she does with being a blank ship without any upgrades or anything. Neither of the other factions have her without buying upgrades and such.
The Mind like should stay Scum only since it is Aruzan thing and she is Aruzan plus Dengars Wife.
Because the name is so opaque that nobody knows what it is.

It matters hugely. The more of one archetype you have in a tournament the higher the chance of a list of that archetype winning.
Edited by Blue FiveProbably partly on the basis that people are still quite happy to see something other than Defenders and/or palpatine, partly because mindlink was written off for quite a long time.
The hate will come though.
But that's a circular argument. The more chance a list has of winning a tournament the more you have of that archetype being played.
If half the room decided to play a **** list it's chance of winning would go from 0.1% to 0.2%, because it's still a **** list.
My only experience with Parattani is as a benchmark list when practicing solo, so this might be totally baseless. But I think some of the reason people hated triple jumps and Dengaroo was that they surpressed certain archetypes that, until Jumpmasters showed up, had a prominent place in the meta (rebel regen and TIE swarms respectively). Parattani doesn't seem to be doing that. If it is surpressing something, it's something that was not discovered prior to Parattani (the "missed opportunities" Mynock has speculated about in past episodes).
It does push forward the power curve, and many top players are using it for this reason. But it doesn't push anything else out of the meta except for what the people who take it would have otherwise flown, if that makes sense.
Gosh, imagine a tournament where everyone is flying naked Spice Runners...the final salvos left and right!

I think that's a good insight.
I think Paratini doesn't get the same hate as Dengaroo because it doesn't really do anything other than toss around focus tokens. There's nothing specific that feels broken about Paratani.
I feel the fix for manaroo is either put a range limit (like 1-3) or stress dependent. The stress idea would lead to her effectiveness in mindlink lists to lessen.
The discussion is being had, but in more... let's say, elegant places, considering anytime myself, Stay on The Leader or anyone else brings up the point that certain list/upgrade types are dominant on these forums, we get attacked by an angry mob.
Edited by KdubbI think it needs to be 1-2 on Manaroo, 1-3 doesn't really change that much. It would have hurt Dengaroo a lot but Paratanni flies them closer a lot of the time anyway.
Do people hate Manaroo because she is good at what she does? She is good at buffing other ships and helps them to succeed at a dog fighting game?

This is actually a big reason I think players aren't up in arms. When I lose to Parattani, I feel like I lost. When I lose to Dengaroo, I feel like the game had been manipulated in a way it was not intended.
Either way, the results speak for themselves- it is a supremely powerful list (possibly more in part to the power of mindlink than the power of the list itself), and I would not be opposed to changes made in some form if mindlink lists continue to dominate. But for me that simply means adding it to the top of a large stack of things I'd like to see changed lol.
It seems like having a supporting effect with no range restriction is just fundamentally unhealthy in the game. A lot of what is 'wrong' in Emperor Palpatine on a Lambda is also 'wrong' about Manaroo, especially as she's got a better ship than the Lambda and her ability can easily contribute more dice modification than Palpatine's ability does in a turn.
It combines so effectively with Mindlink (another non-ranged support ability) that it seems you get an awful lot for your 28pts.

That sounds too rational for the internet.
Whining tends to be a delayed response: the current rage of the moment is (still) X7 despite it winning precisely 0 World Champs.
I've gone up against Parattani and never won, yet I don't feel cheated. Dengaroo on the other hand has Zuckuss and I always come away feeling cheated. Same goes for Palpatine lists.
THAT is the difference. For me at least. Parattani isn't changing dice that I rolled or magically altering their own, you know?
