So just wondering how much was c3po really used in that ghost build, or could he have got more use out of a different crew. Maybe recon specialist?

Disclaimer: I in no way question his build or decisions.

If you are talking about the squad I think you are, C-3PO probably got a lot of use. Ahsoka allows the Ghost to boost at the start of the combat phase which lets it get out of arc or at least to range three where TLT and C-3PO shift the odds in its favor.

Great thanks for the info

And, although the Imps have a few solid/fun ships, they've basically been neutered at the top and are mediocre everywhere else.

I'm not completely sure about that. The Palp and /x7 nerf only came out a couple of weeks ago. My guess is that a lot of players decided to jump ship rather than fly lists that they could not evaluate the severity of the changes in time.

If Imperials are still lacking from the top 8s come the start of summer then I may agree but I think it will take longer for the meta to adjust and new new effective combos to be tested. Remember, top tier players put a lot of time and practice into their lists, the last thing they want is unexpected changes just days before a tournament.

Double post. <_<

I mentioned this elsewhere, but with a meta shakeup like this, all three factions had adjustments to make and the meta and what could be evaluated accurately was kind of blown up. If it were that much of a challenge, we'd really only see rebel lists or list that worked in the past. Scum had success by adjusting lists that got nerfed and rebels still had to evaluate what might be useful (and there were new combos).

This means that there was either something fundamentally different about the imperial faction and/or nerfs or we are implying that imperial players simply aren't as creative.

I just don't think the latter is true at all, and I've tried to make the case for the former since scum and rebels have both more unique upgrades (almost twice as many in both cases) and more combinations of upgrades on ships (access to three additional upgrade slots the Imperials don't) to fall back on and find winning combinations since there are simply just a lot more possibilities for those two factions. It's worth noting that winning lists are making use of those two additional upgrade slots quite frequently (droids and turrets).
