I notice that all reference to it has been removed from the website, and the forum has been archived ( https://community.fantasyflightgames.com/forum/34-battlestar-galactica/)

Has anyone heard anything official about the game being discontinued?

Maybe no new updates will be released but certainly not discontinued.

What makes you say that? Did you see any store / shop getting a new copy within the last 1 1/2 years? I wish you were right, but ... I don't see it.
