The base is a Tau shield generator, with a cut up bit from a fusion gun to give it a bit more grip when turning.

Unfortunatley, the magnets didn't seat 100% flat, and so when rotated, the turret takes a tilt.

Can't paint until it's fixed. I'm probably going to have to try and use some acetone to dissolve the glue, and then reattach them. All without destroying the existing model. (Acetone dissolves plastic and paint too...)

See, this is what the model should have been like in the first place, the stand is an utter nightmare!

Yah, I'm sure the could have made the turret mobile on the mini - you put a post on the bottom and a hole in the top, and before sticking the clamshell together you put a cap on the bottom of the post.
