man people on this forum drive me insane with there FFG does nothing wrong attitude reminds me of when a kid get's in trouble and the parents blaming there actions on a lack of sleep. FFG did fail they played it way to safe and treated this game like there other lcg's instead of distribution needed to run a successful ccg. I played many games that have just started there CCG and this one is the ONLY one with this problem I never once could not get product when I wanted one for personal use or for a tourney prizes NEVER.

"you can just play with the other versions of the same character"

this is irreverent because the same version is not the same card, it has a completely different effect. the lucky ones who got product will have an advantage over everyone else that did not receive product. ppl suggesting otherwise clearly has no experience in playing in big level tourneys.

so if I come to your house and steal your wallet it will be fine right since it is what it is. just accept what your given phy dont work for me.

so instead of burying our heads in the sand like a cowardly ostrich we need to call a spade a spade, like it or not this has hurt the game it may not kill the game ( I do believe it will survive for at least awhile) but it stunted the growth of the playerbase and it is not what it could have been.

It's not that they did nothing wrong. They clearly underestimated demand for the game. That qualifies as doing something wrong.

Your posts on this topic sound like you take this shortage personally and believe FFG underestimated demand just so they could piss you off. They didn't. They want the game to entertain people and make them money for years to come.

Furthermore, your rage seems disproportionate to the problem. It's not like they kicked your puppy, stole your car, or started a war. They underestimated demand of the first release of a new game. If that is the biggest tragedy that impacts my life this year, I'll gladly take it. I actually feel guilty referring to it as a tragedy. In the scheme of things this is an incredible minor event. Learn some patience. It will help you deal with the shortage in a much healthier way.

when did i say I took this personally? no it's just a horrible business move, no it's not the worst thing that could happen in my life but so what I still have a right to complain. If they done there homework this could been prevented, from what I hear this is not the first time they messed up a release.

Agree that FFG underestimated demand. No one is arguing that. You are coming across as if you know the solution/fix and that FFG does not know how.

It's not that you said you took it personally, your tone is that of someone who is getting emotional about the situation, indicating you're taking it personally.

You keep saying it was a horrible business move as if underestimating demand was a part of their businesses plan for Destiny. I think you may not have a very good understanding of forecasting sales specifically, and bringing a product to the market place as a whole. FFG did their homework and placed an order that they thought would cover the demand of the early adopters and then some. Perhaps you could detail for us how you would have handled it differently. Please give us the details, what FFG did to predict demand and how you would've done it if you were in charge.

FFG is a successful company with a history of growth in spite of the product shortages over the years, or maybe it's because they are a risk adverse company that makes conservative business decisions that they are doing as well as they are. It would take someone with a more intimate knowledge of FFG's business than you or I to know for sure.

For the record, I will defend your right to complain, freedom of speech and all that. I will also point out when you are being ridiculous by creating a mountain out of a mole hill. Right to complain or not this situation is inconsequential in the grand scheme of things and doesn't warrant all the angst it's generated on these forums.

At the end of the day, it is just a game and just not something worth getting upset about. I have plenty of cards now and I didn't bother with this game until the last shipment. When SoR comes out, I'll have plenty of cards from that too, since I preordered.

Jesus people this is a star wars destiny discussion forum so were it fits in the grand scheme of things is irreverent, I am not talking about my life I am talking about the game. In fact this does not effect me one bit I got almost 2 of everything I am speaking for the other potential players I could be getting into the game if there was some product for them to buy.

you all make excuses for FFG but why is this not a problem for any other card games in the modern area to get out enough product to meet demand? It's not even there first time they done this, it's got me wondering if this is there buisness move after all. The idea being create a false demand by shortning the product so it will sell out. ppl will look at it and assume the game is overflooded with players do to the shortage of product. then eventually they release a bigger wave to capitalize on the players they fooled. ( not saying this is what there doing, but what they could be doing there a businesses after all)

If their problem is still this bad a year from now, I won't be making anymore excuses for them. For now, it is a new game with an unknown demand and they were smart not to over produce without knowing anything about the demand for this game. With that said, how could this be a tin foil hat moment when they simply could not have known the demand. I will say however, erroring on the side of under supply to create buzz about a sold out product is a smart business move, at least in the short term. In the long term .... well everyone still has their xboxes and playstations, wii's, not so much.

Until evidence is presented, I'll give them the benefit of the doubt that they made just enough to test the waters for this game to see how it goes before going crazy on production.

They believed in it enough to license out the dice concept, create new manufacturing for the dice, make the game and publicize the game. That is a whole lot of backing right there. Maybe they decided not to take things too far by over producing the game.

Who says FFG did the bare minimum? Do you now how many units of Destiny they produced? Whose to say they didn't make a million booster boxes, which I would think would meet demand, and they all got sold out?

Disney believes in them to allow them to make this game, which is a completely unique game concept for FFG and the only collectible SW game on the market now. If Disney didn't want to go this route, they would have had Hasbro/WOTC do it, since they've already had experience in the SW collectible game space.

No, I do not wish to see FFG to filter anything or anyone however I also think that something has to be done as all of this negativity in these post as it has driven and will drive people away. I for one get tired of trying to enjoy a post only to have the same people post about how much they dislike the game and/or company.

As a consumer in this day and age I need to make sure I do my part IF I want in on the fun. Which means I have to preorder what I think I want in advanced. Sorry but these are times we live in and until Destiny can be found in big box stores or on shelves of almost every game store, preordering is a must.

most companys do send out enough product to meet demand, if the market is so hard to predict them why do all other ccg companys have no trouble with supplying the player with product.

it's not are responsabilty to order product that;s absurb, it's the companys resp to get product in the costumers hands.

it sold out due to the little supply they sent out not because it's insanely popular, because if that was the case there be a lot more players then there is now.

Ugh... you have no idea how many players there are out there. Again, FB and stores are thriving with activity on this game. And past and current SW games indicate that there is a huge demand and fanbase for SW games. How many successful SW games are there right now? Exactly. There are obviously more than enough players.

The boxes already are at $200.

I know not all players go to the forums for the games they play, but it seems like there'd be a lot more forum traffic on non-supply related topics -- deck builds, rules questions, strategies, etc. -- if there truly was a large player base.

You mean like on the FB groups that have doubled in size (one to over 6000) in the past 5 or so weeks?

Not all players use the forums of the games they play, but even the ones that do might not use a particular forum in favor of others.

Go look at the LCG section. There are more Star Wars LCG posts then Netrunner by about 10,000, but Netrunner is absurdly more popular, even just from a Internet discussion standpoint. People just use other Netrunner forums/groups. AGOT is the same way.

The reality is most people that are actually playing this game are using other forums then this forum because this one seems full of people that don't actually play this game.
