Hey all, I had the pleasure of playing a super laid back tournament among friends today. Most of them follow strict meta-game, which kind of scared me, cause I took something most people tell me not to do . . . Xizor + Guri. Is that a gasp I hear? Yes I know, but turns out, Xizor + Guri is still amazing! I couldn't believe it! I got 2nd place! 1st went to Kylo-Aces . . . Anyways. Here is what I ran.
Kind of fun and nice. The semi-final game, was me vs a Kanan(Ghost)/Rex(Tie)/Sabine(Phantom). I destroyed, here is what happened.
Our first combat was held in the center really quickly, withing the 3rd round. Guri did some nice clean damage to Rex. Rex was left with 1 health and was able to fly through debris to get away. Along the way, Xizor was SHREDDING the Ghost, Kanan's Ability didn't help too much against Xizor. Xizor got hit for 3 damage by Kanan, but it was passed to Unkar. Unkar chased Rex and was able to tractor beam him many times towards the edge. He also tagged Kanan, and changed his maneuver to not only a white (while he was stressed,) but also he went through a debris. The ghost blasted Sabine out around turn 5 or so, but didn't see this coming. Guri did some crazy maneuver and barrel rolled out of Sabine's arc at range 1. Guri rolled 3 crits and a hit. No evade, what luck for me! Sabine went down, and the ghost went down next turn. One health Rex all alone. I got all of my ships range 1, popped the Glitter, and finished him.
Things I would do differently: Change Boshek out for Intel. Also change Cloak for Analyzer.
What do you guys think? Anything about this squad you would change? Am I a good Starviper player? :3
