TheToad's repaints
Here's some of my work I've been doing this past week. Next on the docket is the AFmkII. Let me know what you guys think.
P.S. please don't mind my ugly curtains and sorry the pics aren't the greatest (dammit Jim I'm a modeler not a photographer ?)
Edited by TheToadLooks nice. Like that MC 80.
I like the MC30 more. Those colors fit really nicely its shape somehow.
Oh that liberty looks so good. Different look.
That green/red has me wanting a Thunderbird 2 inspired MC80/MC30... Nice.

Doooo it! For science... of course you've got to then have an MC30a as Thunderbird 4
Did up my other liberty while planning the afmk2. Let me know what you guys think...

Did up my MC-80 Command cruiser over the last few days...

Wanted to go for a more battle worn look let me know what you guys think...
How did you do the scarring?
I heated the end of a model file and pressed it into the ship to make the crater and then pulled it away to make the trench. I used Vallejo oily steel to give the metallic look
Our cruisers can just about repel firepower of that magnitude!
Looks good, that's XI7s for you
What. Have. You. Done?! Poor MC80 looks hurt!
The paint is awesome by the way!
Oh she's not hurt, she's a tough old bird...
Got done modding and painting the AFmk2. I think I'll call her Providence. Let me know what you guys think.
I'd like to thank @FourDogsInaHorseSuit for his post on disassembling these bad boys.

Awesome! I'd be afraid of storing and handling the AF with those extending towers. ![]()
If you ask me it totally needs a Jolly Roger now :-P
Is that a bridge of a WWII battleship? Or more like battleships?

It's the USS Enterprise's tower (and some other junk I had laying around)

You inspired me, sir (that and this beast escaped Ackbar with 1 hullpoint remaining!) Painting done first - my usual ISD white, followed by successive layers of grey (mostly dark/blue greys), followed by black ink for the main scar, followed by the tip of a triangular file held over a candle.
Candle important because it'll never get hot enough to anneal (soften) the steel, triangle important because you get a choice of shape/depth of melt. You can spin it to create a widening on narrowing scar.
And of course all the scars are front-to-back, because Star Destroyers never run ;-)

Wow looks great sharpe!
Will be posting pics of my hammerheads soon!
Here's a modded Hammerhead I've been working on. I gave her some battle damage, some grime, and external racks. Let me know what you guys think...
