Time to say goodbye

By Radwraith, in Dark Heresy General Discussion

Well, the day is upon us and it's time to say goodbye. I'd like to thank Tim and everyone else for one of my favorite RPGs to date. However much I think it was wrongheaded to end the series, here we are.

Since I don't play Star wars, I doubt I'll have much cause to be here much after this. I want to wish you all well and hope someone picks up the line in future.

Are you not going to play DH anymore and talk to people here interested in the universe the same as you are only because there won't be (at the moment) DH 3ed?

I will certainly play and will respond to anyone who still has an interest! I'm just of the opinion that this particular site will likely not be here much longer and wanted to say goodbye.

So far I've had a hard time making sense of many of the other sites that are intent on picking up the conversation. That's probably my fault though ☺ (Old grognard's disease!)

So many of us waited decades for a fully-realized 40k RPG. I'll miss the discussions and fan content of these forums. A lot of great people here.

I feel like a dear friend has passed.

I concur. Our Deathwatch campaign continues to go strong and I will run other 40K RPG games in the future, but it is sad to see the end of FFG's direct hand in it. They have done us fans well and I am thankful.

Thanks for the heresy guys!

Well, we are not in the archive yet...

I was going to say, it would seem they postponed the apocalypse for now as it were.

I will agree with you on trying to figure out how the discord site works

And yes I will miss the people from here

Was there an announcement that FFG website will be shut down?

I can't understand you all. License abort doesn't mean they have to/will to shut down the domain and the forum. Also, forum has years of homebrew community material, it might not be up to them to even touch it.

And what about FFG support for existing rulebooks and extensions? It seems redundant to remove the website.

P.S. Discord sucks, IMO. Just another flamed chat.

I think it's because DH2-beta forum was archived - so that a number of people think that all WH40K RPG forums will be archived.

Point of Order:

You apparently don't remember the Black Industries website then, homebrew material doesn't mean they can't be removed. We're using their hosting service they can do what they want with it.

FFG support existing 40k rulebooks AFTER they aren't making money off them by not producing them anymore when they already don't support them as is by having a complete errata for each line...yeah sure...

Not just that, it would seem every game they aren't actively making anymore goes into the archives. At least from what I can tell.

Hmm, hmm who knows then.

It's been great everyone. Even though I feel I got started late, about a year or so before the ItmeJP stuff that made Dark Heresy super popular, the materials and games have always had a lot of heart and hard work put into them. Thanks to everyone involved.

I know i've still got a few DH2 games in me though.

We're going incredibly strongly over on our discord server/R4H. Hopefully I'll see you there, if not, I hope you're able to keep playing these great games!

I'm still trying to figure discord out! If I do, you'll see me there!

Just want to say, before the end claims this spot of 40kiness, that I've enjoyed my stay here wish the best of luck to everyone! Many really great people have frequented this forum and I hope that maybe we'll catch up again at some other forum in the future. :)

If do please share info

So is this Discord thing more active than the Rollforheresy site itself? Or what's up with that?

Its fairly active ThenDoctor, a few GMs doing a project to revamp some of the older systems into DH2nd as well as spitball campaign, errata, etc. ideas around. Good place.

Honestly I'm more busy just actually digging into DH1's Calixis Sector material. I never actually sat down and read it all. Even in the core rulebook there's a ton of little nice things or things worth getting an answer from the devs on. DH2's nice and all, but I appreciate all the games in the line for what they are.
