More Awakening in April....

By Mep, in Star Wars: Destiny

My FLGS is taking preorders for both Awakening and SoR for April delivery. Just saying what they are doing based on what their distributor is telling them. They indicated a good supply of SoR was available pending any potential rationing.

Have to confirm my dude said the same thing. Don't know if the distributors know for sure but they seem to think they do.

my lgs said the same, but have stoped takking pre-orders. I don't know if he knows what hes getting already or just playing it safe.

Would be GREAT to have more Awakenings!! Hope that info is correct. Bummer that the two sets will be competing for dollars, though. Not so much for me - I've got most of what I want/need from Awakenings, but will be a bit rougher for those still searching for Awakenings stuff. But still would be nice to at least have it available!

That was always kind of the obvious eventuality, but it's good to actually hear some backup on it. Thank you for sharing.

April 26th is the release date for SoR from my other FLGS.

I've been checking the upcoming page every day. We'll see what happens.

my sentiments exactly. FFG is famous for delayed product. but destiny was released when they said it would be so who knows

I don't think they would have had any spoilers at all if they weren't reasonably confident of getting product out in the next few months, but yeah, I'm still wary. Once bitten, etc etc.

Remember some x-wing waves that were supposed to come out in November not hitting stores till January.

"It's on the boat"

Well Awakening came out at the beginning of Dec. So for them to be 'on time' with the every 4 months thing, they would need to release beginning of April, not the end of it. So yeah, they are already late but I doubt they would be any later barring the ship sinking.

Two months to ship, a week to distributors, and another week to store shelves.

If it is anything like the Awakenings roll-out, expect only 1 or 2 booster boxes per store (if any at all).

Hoping that maybe FFG does another fly out of product to get it in people's hands on time. Hitting this release date would be another way to relieve people's concerns about the longevity of the game.

So would some kind of statement from FFG regarding their issues, but even that doesn't seem likely.

True, but product in my hand matters to me more than what FFG could say in a statement.

I agree, some form of a statement from FFG could've help their PR. Also, it could've helped stem some of the tide of criticism.

One is a lot easier than the other, and demonstrates that they care; a general lack of acknowledgment demonstrates the opposite, I think.

Well, they talked to their distributors, which talked to my game store which told me when SoR was on the way. I am satisfied.

I was talking more about the Awakenings print run. "I gots mines" isn't really much of a defense for otherwise poor customer service.

But we're already beating a dead horse on the communications issue. Will they communicate better? One can hope because so far they've missed those opportunities.

The other chance to wow us is the meeting product schedule. That's still up in the air, but they did meet their schedules in Dec.

They did with Destiny and Doom, and possibly something other lines - but slipped with X Wing; and also with Imperial Assault outside of the US.

I for one wish that those who have very little to say besides running down the game and the company would stop. Enough is enough and you have made your point...in more than just a few post. This really does nothing but drag down the rest of the people who wish to come here and enjoy themselves.

If this should continue on I hope FFG steps in and puts a stop to it. And yes, it is the same few who time and time again have very little good things to say. IF you do not like said game OR said company you may want to ask yourself why you are still here? If for no other reason than disruptive and negative post, it may be time for you to find another game, game company, game forum to support.

I don't see any other discussions going on here. Perhaps you'd like to start a thread yourself, hmm? Some kind of productive conversation regarding strategy or tactics. Go on, let's see what you got.

If they start deleting criticism post then I am out of here......

it's not that we hate the game it's the exact opposite, we see the potential but instead of living up to there full potential we have to sit and watch FFG screw it all up. I want to promote the game but I am not getting anyone into the game just to tell them there is no product to buy.
