Title sums it up. Who would you rank as the top 5 Rebel aces (ships, not players) for this game? How come? Are there even 5?

I typically think of an ace as a small base ship that can finish a game by itself. Under that pretense:

1) Poe

2) Miranda

3) Nora

4) Corran

5) R2D2 the astromech

I'd put in a vote for Jake, only 2 attack but prockets help with that and with VI and PTL has great arc dodging and action economy

Poe ether way is hard to beat, however Mr Solo is the top tir alone.

Hobbie with Targeting Astromech. The only Rebel that gets (effectivley) a white K-Turn and free PTL, at 9 points less than the equivalent Defender PS5.

edit: Heres a quick fun looking list I just did

Hobbie + Targeting Astro + Advanced Proton Torps + Guidance Chips
Wedge + Swarm Tactics + R7T1 + Intergrated Astro + Proton Torps
Red Squad Pilot + R2D6 + Swarm Tactics + Plasma Torps + Guidance Chips

if flown well, 3 PS9 X-Wings. Hobbie as mentioned before, Wedge coz its Wedge and his droid gives him a free boost and Red Squad. Guidance chips to give those munitions an extra little boost.

It's really sad that the list isn't

I'd say Hobbie, Wes, and Corran are all better pilots than Han and Hera. Luke's talked up alot but outside of A New Hope he hasn't had any space combat. He got a little bit of atmospherics done on Hoth and then crashed into a swamp because he;s not a good enough pilot to avoid land. Garven Dreis was probally a better pilot than Luke but he was killed by Vader.

In the movies, sure - but both the EU and the newcanon gave him lots of space battles between movies.

Han might be one of the few guys on pair with X-Wing series Wedge Antilles and Soontir Fel, so his PS 9 is well earned. He might be the exception to the list, but he had is long-term domination of the X-Wing meta too and showed up strong even in 2016 world's, rightfully so, his ship is tricky to fly in the current meta, but it seems like he can still perform.

Luke was good enough to become Rogue Leader and Wedge took over later. So is PS 8 is earned.

And Hera is always a cornerstone of the rebels, as Crew on the Ghost, she never shown exceptional flying, outclass by Vader and Fenn Rau alike.

Poe? Well, we have not see much of him so far. At least I have not seen much of him, PS8 or PS9 might be both the correct choice, but he see's a fair share of use imho anyway.

And I think I should fly more Hobbie with PTL, I totally overlooked PTL as option because Hobbie does not have an EPT .

It is an amazing combo, and hey since you get to target lock and focus, which is Hobbies only actions anyway it's basically PTL, kinda.

Tarn Mison or Braylenn Stramm, because they are the only named rebels I fly.

In fact, I am taking both of them to their second Regionals this season.

Not sure about "best", but for my favorites, I'd go with -

1. Poe

2. Rey

3. Jake

4. Miranda

5. Thane

No Briggs yet it to a ton of lists no porkins - poor rebel pilots - how quickly your efforts forgotten

1. Miranda - does everything you need : bombs, turret, regen..
2. Dash - wonderful pilot ability, even better now with Kanan crew
3. Han - same as Dash, Kanan crew really helped him come back
4. Corran - hard hitting, dodgy regen ship
5. Poe - even better at PS9, he benefits from his synergy with R5-P9

Honorable mentions :
- Wedge Antilles : with BB8, EU and PtL, he hits really hard. Too bad he costs that much...
- Keyan : a lot of possible builds, his ability remains wonderful
- Wes : a really annoying piece for your opponent - but that doesn't make him a "killer ace"
- Jake and Tycho : apart from the procket delivery, their puny attack value is no match for defenders.
- Ten Numb : wonderful ace hunter, pushed out now that Imps aces (again, defenders) get 3 shields so you can't deliver that sweet Critical.

It's easy!

Luke Skywalker as he is a jedi master who destroyed the Death Star. He then founded the New Jedi Order (and the Jedi Praxeum on Yavin IV)

Wedge Antilles, he survived both Death Star Missions, his proton torpedoes even destroyed the Death Star II and he became the leader of Rogue Squadron and founded Wraith Squadron. And manny other exploits.

Han Solo as he made the Kessel Run under 14 parsecs, but even he gets borded sometimes.

Corran Horn became one of the most successful pilot from Rogue Squadron and even he became a jedi master (under training of the first mentioned)

Tycho Celchu became commander of the famous Rogue Squadron right after Antilles' promotion. He was one of the best students of Imperial Academy and even after his defection to Rebel Alliance, he proofed worthy of the Ace title even with unarmed ships.
