Inspiring recruit interaction with Wingman /Yorr

By Shraken, in X-Wing Rules Questions

Kylo Shuttle w/ Wingman which states at the start of the combat phase remove 1 stress token from another ship.

Captain Yorr says when another friendly ship receives a stress token he may receive it instead.

Yorr stops, gains a stress.
Kylo stops, gains a stress and Yorr receives that.
I'm not sure if it matters which of these ships has inspiring recruit so let's just say that Yorr has it.
Inspiring recruit says "Once per round, when a friendly ship at Range 1-2 removes a stress token, it may remove 1 additional stress token."

Kylo then removes a stress at combat, satisfying the range 1-2 requirement and friendly and it is removing a stress token satisfying the 3rd requirement.
Yorr and Kylo start combat without stress.

Am I right in this logic?

Yup

No.

Yorr stops the stress ever being gained (c.f. Soontir/Yorr interaction) so no stress is ever removed, so recruit doesn't trigger.

That's not what I'm asking. I'm talking about wingman and inspiring recruit.

I feel like you only read halfway through my post.

Due to the nature of Inspiring Recruit not caring about anything other than distance, which is obviously in range if wingman is, it does trigger as Wingman is removing a stress. Inspiring Recruit simply looks for a friendly ship removing stress, so regardless of how you rule Wingman's origin of the stress removal (the ship with wingman makes most sense, but it doesnt say "you" so you could argue the ship with the stress is the remover) it triggers anyway and removes a 2nd stress.

Actually, what he is saying is that wingman (on Kylo) at the start of the combat phase removes a stress token, which thanks to Inspired recruit, would remove 2 from Yorr.

The OP's interaction is valid. You got your stationary turrets.

Ah right, I get you. Yeah, that works I think.

But it's a bit pointless, you might just as well drive one of them out in front, stop it, and have the other ram into it, then use your ept for something useful.

Don't listen to the fake news, Castles are the new meta.

So can Inspiring recruit remove any stress token on the board?

In the example given, Kylo is removing stress from Yorr with the Wingman effect. Kylo then gets to remove an additional stress token. Are there any limits on which stress tokens can de removed?

I would have assumed that the ship that is removing the token could only remove one of their own tokens with Inpiring Recruit.

If Wingman and Inspiring Recruit interact as presented it seems like one of two things is true:

1. The ship triggering Inspiring Recruit needs to remove the additional token from the same ship that the token that triggered Inspring Recruit was removed from.

2. The additional token can be removed from any ship.

Definitely option 1. Both tokens must be from the same ship.

OP is describing scenario 1
