More Starters

From an Imperial perspective, I can see the desire to possess planet killers. Alderaan and the Hosnian system were both impressive victories, so why wouldn't they keep going back and building more whenever Rebel terrorists destroyed them.

Thankfully, for the Rebellion, it always took the Empire lots of time and resources to build these things, so the Galaxy wasn't littered with them.

Pretty much this. What weapon in the star wars universe has more power than a death star? It'd be like terrorists taking out a nuke plant. Do we attempt to build something better than nukes? No. Nukes are the top of the chain so you work on delivery of payload, planes or rocket platforms, satelite launchs, subs... the list goes on. The empire building a death star again makes perfect sense. What IS getting old is there being some catastrophic design flaw that a single torpedo can completely wreck this planet sized weapon. I mean seriously how many effing times do the rebels need to blow it up before they put some freaking shields around the power core? Poor writing on that front.

I liked TFA the problem I had with it was not that there was another death star, I mean ever bad guy has a base of operations. what I did not like is it played out almost the same way that a new hope did, they need to do something original which is why I love rouge one. I came in thinking the idea of R1 was ridiculas to loving it when the show was over. also one of my fav quotes is in the movie.

Awful as the comic was at times, the original Marvel comic had the right idea for the next Death Star with the Tarkin. Why build a second or third slow moving battle station when you can mount the cannon on a spaceship that can actually move through hyperspace at a decent speed?

Well the Death Star is a moon sized reactor with a space station candy coated shell. It wouldn't fit on a ship, unless you do it in a stupid comic.
