Has anyone ever done matches in a proper mega scale fight in armada? I was wondering on how it would be, for example 1000 point fleets. Would you still use a 6'x 3' or expand for some crazy shenanigans like 12'x 6' and that sort of thing and how long would it take?(measuring in days probably). But what does everyone think of the idea? Could this even expand to multi-player matches with 2/3 players in each side? THROW ME OPINIONS LET'S BRAINSTORM!!
Film scale super matches?
Well, the Corellian Conflict rules allow for matches with 1,500pts a side with 6 players on a 9'x3', so that's probably a good place to start ![]()
Going to take about 6-8hrs I'd think. Not played one yet but hoping to as our campaign nears that point.

Does it ?\o/ I don't know much about the campaign, so I may be completely wrong, but aren't matches with 500 points max each fleet and players on separate boards?

Yes, for most of the matches - once one (or both) teams get within 4 pts of winning they can call an All-out-assault which is one large battle (as described above) to decide the campaign.
wouldnt film scale involve like 8+ ISDs? lol
Endor had at least two dozen ISDs

So I did a bunch of freeze frames on the blue ray version of Return of the Jedi and this was the count I came up with....
2x xwing squad
2x awing squad
1x ywing squad
1x bwing squad
1x Millennium falcon
5x mc80
1x Liberty
2x nebulon-b
1x cr-90
4x escort ships
Vs.
6x fighter squad
5x interceptor squad
37x ISD
1x SSD

The scene where Akbar blurts out "we'll last longer against those star destroyers than we will against that death star" I was like LOL Bull****!
Well, thanks to 'Rogue One', we've now got at least one 'on film' battle that is basically Armada-scale. CC-style, perhaps, given the third Star Destroyer. But about 500 pts should do it.
And it seems like 'Rebels' might be putting together one, later this season, too. Still on the larger side - IIRC, it looks like 4 or so ISDs with an Interdictor and various cruisers, but...within the realm of possibility for the game (unlike Endor, which is just...nope)

Totaling what I counted and estimating the SSD value, Endor was a 5000 point game at MINIMUM. lol
37?!? ROFL

So, as I said previously, measuring time of play in days is actually realistic. By the way, you are amazing for those freeze frames calculations!!

Thanks, the rebels are supposedly completely inaccurate, because they didn't have enough models to show all the fleet at the same time, supposedly it was about 3x as big...
But the imps was an easy count lol
Wouldnt that imply more Imperials as well? For instance we know there were interdictors present.

and we don't know what else was present but not visible, so Endor is basically an all-out-assault from a whole small village
I honestly hope Jakku ends up being even bigger. If the Empire falls because of the defeat at Jakku I want to see this appocolyptic almost mythical battle on the scale of the battle of Coruscant. Im talking 100 star destroyers minimum.

Have you had a chance to play the new Battlefront? The Jakku map in star fighter mode is pretty intense... lots of ships, almost looks like the opening to EP III
1,250 can be squishy at times in 6X3 but it's still totally doable (It's not that much effort, about 4 hours and it was done). I'm looking forward to some more CC matches though for the big-awe factor. Seeing how a 4 player or 3 player 750 pt list will expand the look of what's on the table.
We've got an all-out assault going on next week that I'm really looking forward too. And, while we're not going to be fielding 37 ISD (seriously... 2, there are 2 ISD in 3 fleets. I own more ISD than that!), there are some 4 VSD, 2 ISD, 1 interdictor, 3 Gozanti, 2 Raiders, and 2 GSD and 19 fighters for the Imps so far, and we're getting ready for another 120 points to be thrown into the mix somehow. But the Rebel fleet is starting to at least approach movie-esque if I do say so myself: 1 MC80 command ship, 1 MC80 assault ship, 1 Liberty, 2 Peltas, 1 Rebel Assault frigate Mk.I, 1 Rebel Assault frigate Mk.II, 1 MC30, 5 Cr90, 6 GR-75, and 34 squadrons (a third of which are X-wings, with the Falcon in the lead and Hera with Phoenix squadron A wings as reinforcements).
Scariff at 400: 3xIsD1, Vader, 4xTIE Fighter
at 500: add Devastator, some upgrades, More TIE fighters
Imps get second with a 2 token version of hyperspace assault but they can use the ISD1. Vader no on field until jump in.
Rebels are tricky. They should have Biggs, Wedge, Dutch, Rogue, Gold, VCX for 95 in squads. Ackbar/Raddus. An MC80ho, nebulon, Cr90, and transport at a minimum 242. Total, 337. So maybe add some upgrades and higher cost ship versions.

Lot more than that, for the Rebels. First off, I'd assume the MC75 is more like the AF Mk2 than an MC80, which will help, but the fleet consisted of:
- 3x Braha'tok gunships (~1x flotilla?)
- 3x Hammerhead corvettes
- 7x CR90 Corvettes (this does include the Tantive IV)
- 3x Nebulon-B Frigates
- 9x GR75 (~4x flotillas?)
The Empire, too, had a bit - the Death Star didn't really play a role in the battle, but it could have. And the shield gate was armed, as well - so it should be, at least, an 'armed station'.
That Quasar-Fire better have a scatter token; he's about to need one...
