Need For Screed

By Warlord Zepnick, in Star Wars: Armada Fleet Builds

First time posting a list for serious critique here. Don't be afraid to hurt my feelings (I have none).

First thing to note is that if I am unable to secure first player, I think this team dominates objectives.

Most wanted- naked gozanti can run while commanding squads through Jendon

VIP- naked gozanti can grab the VIP and run while commanding squads through Jendon

Intel Sweep- surprise-- naked gozanti is again on intel sweep duty while he commands squads through Jendon

Demo is demo.

Glad-II with Kallus. I love flechette torpedoes. Absolutely love them. I realize I can only use them against unique squadrons, but they seem to be more prevalent these days, especially in Rieekan rebel bomber lists. I can dish out torpedoes at medium range with insurance in ordinance experts, and at least one guaranteed hit with Screed. Obviously, if I am facing a squadron light list, Kallus gets a rest while ships become the primary target.

Glad-II with sensor team provides some extra flak, if needed, and can simultaneously hunt down flotillas with relative ease. Front or either side arcs plus a ram is an auto-kill against a flotilla.

I am still not sure about squadron composition. I figure I can still win the squadron battle with the flak that I have, and through in some cheap intel in case I need to bomb immediately.

Thoughts, comments, concerns? And of course, thanks in advance.

Jendon is great for double shots with Sabre Squadron or IG88. On a Tie bomber it isn't that much better than just shooting yourself. I would swap him for a Lamda and upgrade the Jumpmaster to Dengar (for the scatter and brace mainly) and/or upgrade a Tie-B to Tempest squadron for a bit of escort to keep the intel or Rhymer alive for a while.

What you're missing here is double brace on Jendon. Extra durability is worth extra points for this list that heavily relies on Relay.

True.

But I think the defence tokens on Dengar and adding an escort to protect him (and the Lamda) are more important. If Dengar dies then you are left with some Tie bombers locked in combat with 3 X-wings and who really then cares about the imperial fighters trying to fight their way out of that situation in the 2-4 turns remaining.

In addition the ability to move around objective tokens can be useful. All three missions given in the Warlord Zep's list would benefit from the Lamda's Strategic rule which sadly Jendon doesn't have.

Both great points.

I did choose Jendon for two reasons, one being the brace. Second being the bomber double tap.

Like you said, there is also a lot of value in replacing him with a strategic lambda. I can pick up the VIP sooner, or and intel token or two.

If my bombers get locked down, I was planning on shadowing them and Jendon with Kallus to turn the tides.

I agree with Jendon to Lambda switch. You play the relay cautiously so the arguments about defence tokens dont apply.

Strategic is not for your missions. You are bidding for first player. You need to be able to play your opponents objectives.
