Possible Integrated Astromech Fix?

How 'bout this?

I'd prefer if this was just part of the text for Integrated Astromech. It'd make Integrated + Autothrusters Red Vets a thing and Integrated + Vectored T-65s.

That seems like a win to me.

I think a title is more in line to fix the T-65 X-wing at this point, what that title does is up for debate. It can reduce the cost of the X-Wing itself, add an action like barrel roll or increase agility or attack with special conditions applied like taking on a stress token, ion token etc.

They could also do something like the A wings missile refit but in the x-wing torpedo slot that subtracts squad point cost for not using torpedo's

I'm hopeful some kind of Rouge One veterans pack will come out at some point with fixes for the T-65 X-wing and the Rebel Y-Wing along w/ new pilots w/ decent pilot abilities.

I'm waiting for a title that allows two non-unique astromechs. It's coming I'm sure.

If integrated simply allowed another modification to be equipped it would do wonders. Maybe not much for generic t65s, but it would be awesome. Wedge with R2, PTL, and VT is hella fun to fly but he's just too squishy which is exactly what I'd say for every t65 pilot/ship. The t70 can already be made to be good it's just too expensive with the required upgrades. Integrated plus the almost required autothruster mod would go a long way to balancing it out.

Except for Tarn, he is beef.

Huh? What do you mean?

That would make zero thematic sense...

maybe two BB units can stack on top of each other lol :D

The wording of IA states to discard 'one of your astromech upgrades', leading to rampant speculation that either a new X-wing will have two slots or a future Astro will allow a second to be added.

Its ra possible a future Astro upgrade will be an Astromech in name only like the Y-wing bomb Loadout is technically a torpedo upgrade but that's expecting something very specific that isn't likely to happen.

Except for that appearance in Rogue One

Sorry, I've been trying to forget that movie so hard I may have succeeded ;)

Katarn Dash might be killed by a 4 T-65 list due to his slow speed, but a Kanan dash - especially with a HLC - will run rings around the sluggish X-wings. Three X-wings has a much better chance of killing him what with Wes, Wedge and so on - pilots higher PS than Dash. This doesn't even account for Dash's escort, who is typically Miranda or Corran, either of which could probably solo 2 X-wings. The T-65 is so behind the power curve it's not funny.

Like I said, I've managed to beat dash lists. It is possible. It isn't easy and there aren't many viable builds. Sorry if you're not having any luck! I can think of two victories, both Dash Corran. I managed to trap Dash against a board edge in one and kill him quick, the other game I had good dice. My defeat at my club league was at the hands of Miranda - couldn't keep up and she plinked away with TLTs, regenning what I pushed through.

To tell the truth the worst trouble I got was imperial aces - Soontir kicked the hell out of me!

Okay, weird that we're fixated on my "I wish this would happen" comment, but sure, I'll respond one last time.

Reissued cards are a pipe dream. I have no hope FFG would do it to supplement an FAQ recost/rebalance.

But yes, they could/would make plenty off of selling reprints at cost. Easily. And anyone else in marketing can back me up here.

Certain merchandise sectors tend to attract completionists and easily invoke emotional investment, post purchase.

Case A) player purchases pack of reprinted cards: sees that new synergy makes buying a third TIE/Bomber, or using a bypassed upgrade more often, etc is now more viable and buys new expansions.

Case B) new player buys a pack of reprints for their limited collection (they've just bought for the current meta), but since they now own cards for these ships... They feel a draw to buy

If they "could/would make plenty off of selling reprints at cost." Why don't they? They seem to like money and printing cards would be easy, so what's stopping them?

Well yeah, two astromechs wouldn't, but you'd call it veteran astromech, or rare atromech, or unwiped or the like. Minimal imagination for this to make quite a bit of thematic sense... I've heard exceptional droids are a thing in Star Wars

The assumptions that they aren't might be wrong, so is the assumption that companies are fully aware of their own market options (because clearly most aren't). Also possible that I'm wrong.

It seems to be a common and very silly thing for people to think that a company or studio would of course do something if it would make them money. Clearly you've seen/heard the type of designer and corporate debates that circle internally in many places like FFG, and if an idea doesn't have a champion or a sponsor it the right place, even the best potential money makers get passed over.

Successful =/= clairvoyant

Integrated Astromech would definitely be preferable if it allowed an additional mod to be equipped with it and doesn't seem as if it would be in any way broken. Also definitely need a 0 point generic astromech, even if it is not very good, because Astros should be auto-include and the ships that have them are already being charged for the slot.

0pt Astro idea:

During the 'Place Forces' step, you may deploy your ship within range 2 of your board edge.

(with the deployment shenanigans of new Han, Hyperwave and Dormitz, this wouldn't be out of place)

I think a simple idea could be "Pre-installed <old astromech number> astromech", -1 or -2 points.

"This card has a negative squad point cost." and possibly "When this card equipped, the Integrated astromech must also be equipped".

Hybrid Astromech (Title or Torp slot)

You must equip 2 [Astro] upgrades (instead of 1) that cost less than 3 squad points each. When instructed to discard an [Astro] upgrade, discard both.
