New Campaign Starting on roleplayinggames.net

By killerbeardhawk, in Star Wars: Force and Destiny RPG

I run a board on that site already but it had slowed with unfortunately diminishing interest from the current players. I am looking to start a new board (approval pending currently) as a The Force Awakens era mashup of all three lines. This will be knight level (NO CUSTOM GEAR/SPECIES) game play and will action/combat orientated. I plan to design an entire city that is currently being occupied by the First Order. The characters will be brought in via the Resistance to help the city the best they can.

It will be both challenging in the form of both strong opposition and the choices made. I am looking for only the most dedicated roleplayers and those familiar with the system and PBP so that we can move smoothly through each encounter.

If this is something that you would be interested in private message me a character idea. I would like to keep most of the talk of the campaign on the recruitment board at roleplayinggames.net (board is being made soon.) General questions about my expectations and knight level play can be asked of course but I will not discuss possible characters here.

Are you allowing unofficial species menagerie?

How 'knight level' are we talking?

You would have to make a strong case for it. I prefer no custom species. PM me the species and I can take a look.

Glad to hear of more games going up on that site! I'd probably join, but I'm already in 6 games over there, so I probably shouldn't. :P

Still, best of luck!

Unfortunately alot of the games have been going on for years and i think it doesn't get much attention from new players. Great site though! Built in dice roller and customized boards.

It is a shame. LadySkywalker manged to get an influx of new players from here by advertising an FFG conversion of Tempest Feud; it's what got me to the site, and it just hit its year anniversary a few days ago. I also GM an AoR game there and tried to pull some people from here. It's great for it, and the dice roller is nice. Gives me a bit of a fit sometimes, but... /shrug

Been wanting to join in on the Tempest Feud but I think they are over 6 characters currently and I understand how much work adding in new players is.

I think LadySkywalker has been possibly trying to add new people. We had a 7th - a droid - but he went AWOL and had to be kicked. Then we had one or two others queued up, but at least one had to very regrettably be kicked because he accidentally spoiled something from the end of TF for himself.

Not to derail the thread about YOUR game, though! Looks excellent, and it would be neat to see something from TFA era!

Well carp. If I could join a game around 400 - 500 that would be groovy.

Sign me up, I am go for lauch. Are Force sensitive characters alright? Will there be any restrictions on them to start with to keep them 'canon'?

Edit: *Jedi hand wave* You did not see my typo.

Typo

Is there still a place for one more? If so, I wish to second Dunefarble's query regarding Force sensitive specialisations. To be clear, I am fine either way.

There is no restriction on a force sensitive, other than the normal character generation and knight level bonuses.

A force sensitive has the option to take a lightsaber as a knight level character in stead of the 9000 credits.

As far a Canon goes, it's one of the reasons I'm putting this in TFA era. It should allow more creative storylines for the characters. I doubt I will put any TFA characters into the campaign other than General Leia as she coordinated this team up.

As far as a lightsaber crystal goes, I assume we're restricted to the basic crystal?

What are you rules allowing obligation, morality, duty? Do you allow combinations? A max amount?

Basic or "Ilum" are the only ones allowed. I am not familiar enough with the others you would be able to purchase to make a ruling I would be comfortable with.

You should only have the one system that matches your career (F&D and Morality). If there was a character who was not Morality based, so far everyone has wanted to be a force sensitive, I would most likely prefer Duty as it fits better with the group working to help the Resistance.

Of course if there's only one character to have Obligation and the rest Morality, I could be persuaded to use it.

We ran with about seven players from the start, and lost several later additions due to them simply going AWOL. But the six I have now are almost all players who were there from the beginning; they're all awesome, and provide detailed posts.

I would be open to the idea of a seventh, but I've not been actively head-hunting like I had been before. I'd almost never turn down an interesting concept that genuinely got my attention, however. That said, if the player is comfortable with my posting requirements (minimum of 2/week posts that are detailed and more than just a paragraph in length), and can confirm that they have never read, ran, researched, or glimpsed the Tempest Feud module, then I'm game to look at an application. We're starting on the second third of the module now, but the plan is to continue on with my own campaign after - one that should run the length of the Original Trilogy.

Anyways, sorry to derail the thread. :-) Just thought I'd respond to the aforementioned posts, since they referenced my game.
