What to do with my stuff...

By NeverBetTheFett, in Star Wars: Destiny

I've realized that I bit off more than I can chew and have to drop out of playing Destiny. IA and X take up way too much of my already slim amount of free time. I'm relatively new to gaming and was wondering what people suggest for getting out:

Sell now?

Sell later?

Thanks for any helpful responses.

I would wager sooner is better. It there's another wave of Awakenings product, it could lower the value of your cards. Spirit of Rebellion may also lower their value, since Awakenings won't be the newest, hottest item and some new cards may displace old cards in terms of gameplay.

Of course, that's purely speculative. I cannot make any concrete promises about future values.

I'd also vote to sell now if you really want to get out. Once Awakenings gets another print run or two, it'll saturate and even cards like Vader will be low.

Sell now. I made back nearly double my investment on ebay - certain legendaries are £25-40 in the UK (I assume they're similar elsewhere).

I only sold (most of) my legendaries and rares as well, keeping my commons/uncommons as I'd like to get back into the game at some point and i figure having a full playset of non dice cards will help get me back up to speed when that comes.

I'm not convinced anymore that ffg will reprint awakenings. The starters yes, or they may as well slit this games wrists, but the set I just don't know anymore. They seem absolutely retarded in keeping with the original release schedule instead of back-pedaling a bit and rolling with the punches they are pushing forward. I don't know how they would have time to reprint when they are already desperately failing to stay on schedule and won't change the schedule. Who knows, but a tactic I don't want to see them doing is power creep to make everything in awakenings garbage so the new sets are all people are gonna want. This is going to be rough though as there are some pretty OPed cards in Awakenings. Unlimited went that route in magic though. Unlimited whats that? We start at revised unlimited was screwed up and too powerful don't pay any attention to the cards behind the curtain.

Anything at this point is pure speculation. The game is too new and information is too scarce to predict anything. The card prices will either go up, or down or not change. You should sell when you feel comfortable doing so.

hmm...that's a great idea actually.

Yeah. I just in the past few days looked at the price full sets are going for on E-bay, and have had to convince myself that it is too much trouble to sell my 2 of every card for a huge profit just to re-purchase them again down the line when there is more product.

It was so tempting.

At least 4 times over the past couple of weeks I have had to convince myself not to sell my 2 Vaders.

The hot rumor now is Awakenings reprint and SOR both by April ballpark. Keep them if you got them price will only go down short term but may rise again. I am thrilled about this possibility as all the expensive stuff I need should drop ?

We don't know how much Awakening is coming, just that more is. Possible it is just enough to get more people interested but not enough to really cause a dent in prices. What will cause a huge drop in price is everyone selling off their cards.

You are all missing the point of CCG's prices generally go higher slightly when a new cycle is released and then fall back rapidly. Older cycles generate more moeny over time. So generally its a good idea to keep your older sets. If youre out to make a quick profit sell newer cycles very quickly ( almost the minute they come out ). But keeping hold of your older cards always pays off in the long run.

Original cycles of MTG go for thousands of dollars, even ones that where reprint 6 months after release. You have to look at the economies of other CCG's to understand how values in SWD will eventaully play out.

And, hey, we are all out toi play and have fun not make profits, right?....

Most CCG's cards are worthless, just saying. Magic is the rare exception. If Destiny is still a thing 20 years from now, sure, these cards may be worth something. It is all speculation at this point.
