What happened to Super Dash?

Anybody else feel that HLC just isn't powerful enough at the moment unless Dash gets Focus and TL?

I'd be interested in a list that allows Dash to PTL for TL and BR but gives free focus tokens. I mean I guess that's just Kyle really but Kanan works so much better with PTL.

Expertise / Rey. As long as you're not stressed and have at least one focus on Rey, you can use your action for target locks.

EDIT: And they work if you bump too!

4 Red dice is the highest you can get on a single attack without mods. If that ain't enough for you, I'm not sure what is. ;)

I take your point though, ships with a lot of defensive mods like /x7 Defenders are a tough match. In some regards, you are better with multiple 3-dice attacks as these will burn through their token stack faster. Another good reason to pair Dash with a TLT carrier like Miranda. The TLT can token-strip a Defender allowing Dash to land some solid damage with his HLC.

For what it is worth, multiple /x7 Defenders are a tough nut to crack for any list.

Double-post.

4die attacks are usually the threshold you need to push damage through regardless of defense. Defenders can evade it but they need solid evades and the token, usually you burn BOTH tokens in order for them to get that since they lack autos.

Dash doesnt need focus/TL to get damage through but if you can reliably get both why wouldnt you. When rolling that many dice crits arent even needed, though you can still get'm via rerolls.

True, but 4 dice with both mods is very frequently not good enough. You've got a less than 50% chance of dealing damage to Asajj if she managed to stress you, for instance.

If she manages to get an evade and keep dash in her aux arc at range 1-2 I think the Dash player did something very wrong.

Agreed, but if you had to barrel for range and not TL then it's not that much more damage.

Had a couple of games of this last night.

Dash (56)

HLC/Outrider, Lonewolf, Recon Spec, Countermeasures.

Miranda (44)

TLT, Rey, Guidance chips, Homing Missiles, Extra Munitions.

Not played the Lone wolf version before, but was a big fan of the Super Dash of days gone by.

A few things struck me about it, I was pretty good at getting Lone Wolf every round but I found it difficult to line up proper focus fire. It's not so bad if you can clear some space quickly then just hammer and anvil them, but for the first few rounds it's... tricky. I was lucky as the enemy split to engage both targets and Miranda/Homing missile and the following TLT with regen wrecked Palob and 2 HLC shots had no issue dropping a Quadjumper, leaving me with plenty of health and space to keep Dengar where I wanted him.

So how does the game vs the big meta threats go? Do I dump Missiles and take bombs? Drop Countermeasures and go for Ion projection and or feedback? I love flying dash and Miranda, Not sure I've got enough games against Parattanni to really feel it out though. Got a big tournie soon and yes need either an anti Parattanni plan or just play Parattanni... anyone see any good streams of Dash in the current/recent meta?

If I knew I was playing a Parattani list, this is what I would fly:

· Dash Rendar (36)
Expertise (4)
Heavy Laser Cannon (7)
Smuggling Compartment (0)
· Rey (2)
· Outrider (5)
Counter-Measures (3)
Rigged Cargo Chute [or whatever 0-1 point Illicit you like best] (1)

· Miranda Doni (29)
Extra Munitions (2)
Homing Missiles (5)
Twin Laser Turret (6)
Long-Range Scanners (0)
· "Chopper" (0)
-- TOTAL ------- 100p. --

Try to nuke down Fenn with 5-dice Homing Missiles and HLC, and pray for the best.

I think the weak point there is the Homing Missiles, you'll struggle to get that off, at least on Fenn.

I typically don't, but YMMV.

I've been messing around with a Tanky R2D2nsensor cluster/ autothrusters lone wolf Poe as his wingman on squadron benchmark.

Its been pretty nice. I can't yet bring myself to fly a K wing (soooo ugly) so I think I'm trying this list out against real opponents next time I play.

Lone Wolf, Lando, and Experimental Interface make a really strong "Dodgy Dash" that barrel rolls to stay at range three then uses land if needed. Since Lone wolf is only good if its condition is met, I like to fly it with a loaded Corran for a 2 ship list. If you don't use lone wolf, a couple of a wings are good too.

Not bad but I wouldn't risk Expertise against Parattanni. Ventress will slap a Stress token on you menaing you get no benefit from your EPT but she can still turn it into an Evade token if she wants.
