Ok, showing my lack of Star Wars background. What is an "Ugly"?
An uninspired ship design taking parts of unrelated ships and mashing them together. TIE-Wing, Y-TIE, that AT-AT head with TIE wings abomination about to drill Poe through the noggin in the second picture.
TIE fighters with Y-Wing engines, TIE fighter with X-Wing wings. I think there's probably even X-Wings or Y-Wings with TIE wings. They were better left alone to fade into the past.

I agree. I'm particularly annoyed by stuff like Y-Wing cockpit with TIE Fighter wings. Yeah sure, let's strap the engines off both ships and then glue the rest together, I'm sure that'll fly really well.

In fairness, it's less likely to suffer from engine failure.
I actually don't mind a little scrapyard ship building... I mean, the idea that some poor pirate/mercenary group that can't afford a starfighter slapping bits together holds some appeal... Entire formations of scrap flying around is dumb. Once you go beyond one or two you likely could have bought a single starfighter (used, likely) which would outfly the two uglies.
Using a clearly atmospheric walker head as a cockpit is foolish/suicidal if you plan to use the thing in space.

A cut-n-shut of various broken ship parts haphazardly nailed together to make one barely functional ship. Mostly found in the hands of pirates in the Rogue Squadron books.

Not for this game, but there are new canon comic-only characters coming to Imperial Assault, so it's more than possible.

While I wholeheartedly agree that most uglies are, well, ugly; I actually really kind a like the look of that X-fender on the cover image.
They should have primarily red manoeuvres and a maximum of 2 in each stat...
Though saying that I do like the AT-ATIE
That AT/ST with Tie wings looks like what Chopper thinks Satan looks like in hell
The AT/ST is by far the goofiest one.

It made sense in the EU, where they were made up of parts of other ships because they literally were made from junk and they didn't HAVE all the parts to put together the original ship. So they made due with what they had and cobbled together something *****ier.
But if you have the wings of an X-Wing and the engines of an X-Wing and the cockpit of an X-Wing...you make a goddamn X-Wing. You don't just swap them with other ships for funsies. Which is what seems to be going on here.

The idea of crafting an ad-hoc spaceship out of the wrecked parts of other spaceships is so blisteringly stupid, lol.
Not to mention the end results are almost always lazy and uninteresting.
The good news is, conceptually, Uglies would be difficult, and likely too low-margin to mass-produce for FFG, and so we can rest-assured that they won't end up in this game.
Perhaps simply Poe ingested twice the recomended number of recreational pills.

I feel like the AT-ST in space was more effort than it was worth. And the X-Wing s-foils look like they're just glued to the sides of the TIE cockpit. The whole cover is just like
Also, 3PO isn't exactly very quick, I'm pretty sure Poe just bolted right past him to leave him to die.
