2/18 Regionals

By shmitty, in Star Wars: Armada

Another busy weekend of Regionals coming up. If you will be in:

  • Maryland
  • Springfield
  • Albuquerque
  • Vancouver, BC

Please grab a copy of the order of finish and fleet lists for the Regionals data project. Post the data or links to the data in this thread please. @Baltanok will be handling data entry for this weekend as I will be out of the country for a bit. Please let him know when you get the data.

Thanks!

I'll grab the Vancouver info.

I took photos of all the Springfield lists. Will try to get final standings too.

HERE is a link to pics of all 21 fleet lists from the Springfield, Ohio Regional, along with final order of finish after 3 rounds.

13 Rebels and 8 Imperials. The winner, with 24 points, was Nick Koziura with an (drum roll please) Ozzel list! (Raiders, Gozantis, and a non-Demo Gladiator accompanied by an aces anti-squad force). 2nd Place was Nick Chester with a Rieekan Yavaris/Pelta (without a fleet command) bomber fleet, 3rd Place was Jeff Berling with a Rieekan Yavaris/Gallant Haven/Hera + Rogues fleet, and 4th Place was Chris Bloom with a Motti ISDII + 3 Gozanti list.

Epic Loot was a great venue, and very well organized. Gotta get back there sometime. There was a decent variety of lists, and it was good to see a no-squad MC-30 swarm list (5th place) competing.

Ohh I'm pretty interested in Jeffs list w/hera. I painted up a ghost im pretty happy with.

Springfield, OH is in the spreadsheet. (I'm assuming that the unnamed 10 point upgrade on the winners Glad is Demo). Thanks for the data!

Oh didn't notice that blank 10 points. Yeah, appears to be Demo. And thanks for digitizing!

San Diego is now complete. I'm going to give a shout out to the 18 Z-95 list, because that's just wacky.

A friend and I had been wondering about the viability of that possible combo prior to the event, I was disappointed to see it end up so far down. It looked like a very fun concept, and purportedly that player had bought out nearly every store in the region to run them.

That list is preposterous.

I love it.

Though... I have to say I would definitely have just borrowed most of the Z-95s for it.

And here's the lists from Vancouver BC, with final standings after three rounds (pirbawa is Ryan Herriot). 9 Rebels, 4 Imperial fleets. We had a very nice tournament, excellently run by the folks at Wet Coast GT/Strategies Games - smooth sailing all the way, with a great venue. And a shout out to the Seattle contingent for making the drive up - it was great to meet Armada Jim and the Lynnwood gang!

In first place was Corey Johnston, representing Langley and upholding Canadian honor with 26 points. He ran an Ozzel uber-Rhymerball list (ISD, gozantis, Marek, Jendon, etc).

In second place at 23 points was Armada Jim himself, flying the "Trench Run Reunion Tour" (Rieekan FC AF, Yavaris, CR90, transport with literally everyone from episode 4, plus a HWK).

Third place went to Paul Puhallo from Victoria (go Canada!) with 23 points (but lesser MoV, probably due to a first round bye), flying two Peltas, Yavaris, and transports, plus a BiggsBall (Mustache Ride?) guest starring Ten Numb.

And finally in fourth place was myself (go America! I mean, Canada! I probably should make up my mind....), coming in at 20 points (and juuuuust edging another of the Lynnwood guys out by virtue of MoV), using my Ackbar MC80/TRC90x2/transport list, with Strategic shenanigans (which was also the theme of 5th place Josh, who happened to whoop my butt round two in a most entertaining game).

Despite the preponderance of Rebels (and Rieekan) I think there was a good variety of lists and playstyles on display. Fantastic folks all around!

In fairness you did choose fire lanes ;)

Now that I did, that I did.

In retrospect I maybe should have gone with Station Assault - but when presented with the opportunity to have a Strategic vs Strategic tussle over Fire Lanes, I just couldn't resist!! Had to give it a try. :P I have no regrets either - it was memorable, and educational! :)
