Party Bus Help!

By Epixca, in X-Wing Squad Lists

I'm running standard Party Bus PS2 W/ Dengar/ Zuckuss, and 4-Lom. It dies really fast, how do I fly it better, so it won't die? Or is that just it's nature? Is there an upgrade I put on it?

Nope, just fly it better. Try to not get shot by every opponent ship each turn. Without knowing your flying issues it's the best I can do. It's not meant to last forever but shouldn't get killed right away either.

There's only one thing to do to get the problem properly diagnosed: post a battle report! Or two, or three; preferably with pictures.

Or you could watch some YouTube videos of the Party Bus in action. Don't know of any good ones off hand. I'll keep my eyes open for log files of the Party Bus in the Vassal League.

It is only 1 agi, so it does burn away quickly. The goal with the party bus is to burn down what's hitting you before they have a chance to apply all that easy damage. What are your wingmates? Are they protecting the party in the rear?

Whatever is shooting before ps2 should be giving you a soft target to load up that nigh unblockable damage. Make sure to focus fire to reduce the amount of dice coming your way.

As for flying the YV, charging in headfirst is a prescription for disaster in my experience, as it makes it too easy to get behind. Rely on wider turns and banks to keep that fat arc on target, and 4 straight n' bug out if it gets ugly to reengage.

I gear mine with countermessures and burnoutslam ( 2 hardturns or 2 straight 4s are foten gamechanging) to increase its lifespan in my minimal experience it also helps having another ship going ahead / tugging your Yv-666 for Dmgsoaking.

He was being covered by 3 Quads, I won in the end, but it was a close game. I was up against Whisper + Decimator, which made it really tough. I think my issue, was I went heard first into the middle. I should have played on the edge.
