Tano Stramm Poe

Tano/PtL/CapTIE/Title/Rey

Stramm/AO/Tail Gunner/M9G8/PlasTorps/Chimps

Poe (HotR)/Black/Swarm Tactics/BB8/Primed/IntAstro

Yes, a different flavor for Poe, but I can send Tano ahead, having gained PS9 from Peo's Swarm Tactics to get max from EMP, then focus Poe and Stramm on ships that have fixed maneuvers. Tano gets in some licks, too.

Slight problem, you're gonna catch Poe in the EMP radius, so good luck to him for chasing ships with fixed maneuvers (if you want Ashoka at ps 9 anyways, which is a no-brainer)

I'll be careful about that.

If you want a Poe-ARC-Tie list then maybe try something more like this....

24 Ahsoka (17), VI (1), Sabine's Masterpiece (1), Captured Tie (1), Rey (2), EMP (2)
34 Thane Kyrell (26), Weapons Engineer (3), M9-G8 (3), Alliance Overhaul (0), Vectored Thrusters
42 Poe (33), Black 1 (1), BB-8 (2), Push the Limit (3), Primed Thrusters (1), Autothrusters (2)
100 Total

This gives you a much more flexible and punchy list. Ahsoka is now naturally PS9 which will help to protect her. I have upgraded Braylen to Thane and given him Weapons Engineer which can double the value of M9-G8. If people shoot at other nearby ships instead of Thane, that will allow him to shuffle 1 or both Target Locks during the combat phase or even Barrel Roll into a better position.

The combination of PTL and BB-8 on Poe allows him to do 3 actions per turn and still end up stress free. If you put one of Thane's Target Locks on Poe, you also give him Predator-lite. Poe can now Barrel Roll and Boost each turn (potentially shaving up to 2 enemy Target Locks off himself or his buddies in the process) and still take a Focus token.

Ahsoka will find it easier to hide as she is now naturally PS9 and the EMP can potentially allow her to ionise stuff without "breaking cover". Her main ability of course is to feed extra actions to Poe and and Thane who can now perform a crazy number of actions per turn.

I think this list keeps to the theme you were aiming for but exploits the synergies available to the pilots much more effectively.

99 points:

Ahsoka (VI, title, EMP, captured tie) - 22 points

Braylen (Gunner, R3-A2, title) - 32 points

PS9 Poe (PTL, R2-D2, Sensor Cluster, title, Autothrusters) - 45 points

Ahsoka doesn't need Rey if she has EMP. Sure, you only need to get Poe away for 1 turn, but then you might tell them when you will EMP based on your maneuvers. Poe will hopefully live a long time with Braylen stressing things, being about to focus and boost every turn (and shed a TL), and regening.

I feel like Ahsoka is going to have to do damage in some way for this to work. They can't shoot at her, so Poe and Braylen could burn up really fast (even with Poe knocking off 2 TL's). Would this maybe work better than the EMP plan?

100 points

PILOTS

Braylen Stramm (30)
ARC-170 (25), R3-A2 (2), Baze Malbus (3), Alliance Overhaul (0)

Ahsoka Tano (28)
Sabine's TIE Fighter (17), Veteran Instincts (1), Sabine's Masterpiece (1), Captured TIE (1), Conner Net (4), Sabine Wren (2)

Poe Dameron (PS9 Version) (42)
T-70 X-Wing (33), Black One (1), BB-8 (2), Primed Thrusters (1), Push the Limit (3), Autothrusters (2)

Could also downgrade Ahsoka to Ion Bombs and upgrade Braylen to Gunner. This will allow you to still utilize your plan of running Ahsoka to ionize a prime target while also dealing a couple damage. Scavenger Crane also opens up the option of firing with Ahsoka to kill an enemy ship and then flipping Captured TIE back over so she will be invisible again. Obviously you could also pick the bomb up as well.

It depends, 2 red dice from a tie fighter probably won't make too much difference but feeding your aces' action economy can really help. I would be tempted to keep Ahsoka fairly cheap and boost your aces for the first joust or too. Then if you really need to, you can break cover and attack normally. You can spend a lot of points on trying to turn Ahsoka into some sort of stealth-bomber but without EMs, she is only going to be a one shot wonder, even skycrane is expensive and unreliable.

I agree with most of what Karhedron says. Putting a bomb on Ahsoka via Sabine makes her a very expensive single bomb carrier. For the right list, it might make sense as a formidable form of control, though. I think, given the right PS spread, there's merit in flying Ahsoka around with the enemy as an Ion threat. She can also drop her Captured TIE cover when a great opportunity presents itself, like a range 1 attack on a severely crippled ship.

I've been noodling on an idea like that, but with fellow bombers...

Warden Squadron Pilot (23)
Twin Laser Turret (6)
Extra Munitions (2)
C-3PO (3)
Thermal Detonators (3)
Cluster Mines (4)
Advanced SLAM (2)

Gold Squadron Pilot (18)
Twin Laser Turret (6)
Bomb Loadout (0)
Extra Munitions (2)
R2 Astromech (1)
Cluster Mines (4)

Ahsoka Tano (17)
Veteran Instincts (1)
Sabine Wren (2)
EMP Device (2)
Ion Bombs (2)
Captured TIE (1)
Sabine's Masterpiece (1)

That's all fine if your Aces can handle the pressure. Poe might be able, the Arc will wilt quickly. Factor in the low PS of 3 and I'm not sure you get more than 1 turn of fire from him considering they literally cannot decide to waste shots on a TIE fighter. Further, the Crane isn't unreliable. It always works once. You shouldn't need it to work again.

OK, so the EMP Device seems self-defeating when it hits Tano with the same Ion tokens as her opponents. Played twice and didn't feel any particular magic.

However, I saw someone using Biggs and Cpt Rex together ... so I have altered the list a bit:

https://geordanr.github.io/xwing/?f=Rebel Alliance&d=v4!s!224::46:3:U.201,U.111;206:-1,184,206:41:26:;196:57,-1,148,203:39:15:&sn=Rex Thane Poe

Captain Rex/SabM/EU/Rey/Deadman

Poe (HotR)/Pred/BB8/Prime/Auto/BlackOne

Thrane/VectorThrust/AO/Tail Gunner/M9-G8

Again, I don't have Weapons Engineer for the M9-G8 synergy. (If I had Biggs, I'd be playing the duo with Rey piloting the MF.) I am not a big fan of missiles, so just keeping the ARC maneuverable. I thought about Swarm Tactics on Poe to upgrade either of the PS4s but Predator adds some punch. (I had a tough time juggling the actions and stress with PtL in the previous bouts, too.)

Any comments?

I'm not clear on how that works. Thane via M9-G8 puts TLs on Poe? It allows Poe to do a TL? I will definitely need some practice to get all the dynamics worked out--PtL may make a comeback v Predator.

Here's an alternative for you, building on a stress mechanic:

Poe (PS9) 42pts

PTL (3), Autothrusters (2), BB-8 (2), Primed Thrusters (1), Black One (1)

Ahsoka (PS9) 22pts

VI (1), Black Market Slicer Tools (1), Sabine's Masterpiece (1), Captured Tie (1), Inspiring Recruit (1)

Braylen (PS3) 36pts

Luke Skywalker (7), R3-A2 (2), Alliance Overhaul (0), Vectored Thrusters (2)

This allows Poe to strip opposing TLs, Ahsoka can provide an action; potentially a TL to Poe, if he had to boost/BR out of arcs, then PTL for Focus, or a TL to Braylen, who probably would take a Focus, for round 1 of shooting. IF Braylen can double stress the primary opponent target with a miss and Luke reshooot and hit, then in round 2 Ahsoka can roll with BMST for a potential Hull damage. Poe can clear the PTL stress with a green maneuver, and get a BB8 BR for free, Braylen can clear his 2 stress by a green maneuver for the first, and either his ability or the Inspiring Recruit for the 2nd.

Braylen will probably die first, and youll probably have to decide to discard the captured tie card to use primary weaps from Ahsoka in mid game...

But if you start with a primary engagement against either the biggest shooter, or the ship you dont want to see ina 1v1 vs Poe, you can probably do pretty well in the matchup.

Ill provide a 2nd version with Thane (and M9) in place of Braylen next...

So next up is the Poe, Ahsoka, and Thane Kyrell...Poe and Ahsoka are the same, so here's my Thane version:

Thane Kyrell (PS4) 36pts

Weapons Engineer (3), Engine Upgrade (4), Alliance Overhaul (0), M9-G8 (3)

Poe and Ahsoka play the same, but Ahsoka might be better off dropping Inspiring Recruit and the BMST for EM device, or downgrade Thanes EU to the Thrusters, and have 4 points for Ahsoka to take Sabine and an Ion Bomb(?), or RecSpec and a 1pt bid (?) (using the points from BMST, Recruit, and Thane EU downgrade).

M9-G8 allows the pilot to target lock friendly ships, and can be used to make a target locked ship reroll 1 die while attacking...Weps Engineer allows a ship to have 2 TLs, so Thane can TL Poe and the highest PS enemy ship at the same time. During Poe's attack, Thane uses M9 and the TL to allow Poe to reroll 1 die. When the highest enemy PS attacks you can then choose one of his die to be rerolled...in addition, when any enemy in Thane's firing arc attacks, he can take a free action, so he could move the TL on the enemy to a different ship and force an additional reroll on that ship or boost/BR to get out of a lower pilots arc, etc...

In summary of Thane, M9, and Weps Eng, he can nicely add 1 reroll to a friendly heavy hitter, and with his free action when enemy ships in his arc attack, he can move the TL down the line of opposing pilots by PS skill and force a reroll on an attack die on all of them, which isnt too bad of a way to carry out some dmg mitigation. BTW, Weapons Engineer is about $2.50 including shipping, and M9-G8 is $3.20 including shipping on ebay.
