Give me examples of lists that abuse stress

Currently there's no ship that can take Kanan crew and Pattern Analyzer.

Right. They weren't meant to be mentioned as a combo, but as both having the capability to ignore a drawback of landing on debris.

I recommend you use this stress token deaa_critical_hit_d20.gif

Yeah but he isn't the main abuser or the real problem. You want to throw a quarter of your points on something that is not much better than a tie fighter just to do actions while stressed? Be my guest.

What Jeff said. The problem is that there are a lot of combos that give you a benefit even if you have 10 stress on your ship. Fire Control Systems, Dengar Crew, X7, Manaroo, etc.

I personally would have liked to see Black Market Slicer Tools allow you to roll an attack die for EACH stress on the targeted ship. Talk about a hard counter to stress maniac builds!

That's a kind of overpowered, especially since the damage avoids shields.

Maybe allowing the ship with BSMT to remove as many stress tokens from the target ship as they would like, rolling a number of dice equal to the number of tokens removed, if there are any hit or crit results the target ship suffers one point of critical damage (will either result in o or 1 point of damage, no matter how many dice get rolled).

That makes it nasty when aimed at a ship that stacks stress without making it a card that removes two hull ships from the game.

Yeah, to me if you nerfed upgrades you just end up picking the most points-efficient ships and spam them.

This is particularly insightful to me and makes me glad that upgrade cards have gotten better, because this is exactly what happened for a quite a while. Waves 1-3 and a bit into 4 and 5, it was a bunch or tie swarms and BBBBZ and rarely did people have upgrade cards.

It isn't specific lists that are the problem. The problem is that Stress is intended to be a drawback used to balance a card, and some combos are able to get all of the very, very powerful upside without suffering the downside.

Dengaroo uses three cards balanced by Stress: Zuckuss (powerful even if Stress is applied; broken as frak when it's not), Overclocked R4, and Glitterstim (powerful even if Stress is applied, but one-use, so not a huge problem). Because of the combo with Manaroo, the Stress drawback isn't actually a drawback.

Same for the Mindlink lists. Mindlink is a tricky bugger ... it looks like an upgrade that punishes you for Stress, but it's actually a Stress mitigator.

Party Bus likewise abuses Zuckuss, but it has bigger weaknesses than Dengaroo, so it's not as big an issue.

"Drawback that's not a drawback" simply wasn't seen until the cards were out in the wild.

IMO, the only one that really needs to be nerfed is Zuckuss, and there are many ways to do it. My preference would be "Can't use if stressed," but there are other options.

Manaroo seems to be the lynch pin in both Attanni Mindlink Squads and Dengaroo. I would much rather see her banned than see Zuckuss changed.

I suspect we'll see both. (Manaroo won't be banned, but I'll be surprised if she isn't given a range limit.)

Mindlink squads are doing very well, but they -- fairly or not -- just don't seem as broken to me as Dengaroo. I think it's because I'm terrible at flying Mindlink -- even Mindlinked Brobots overheat my brain -- and I picked up Dengaroo "just to see" and still haven't lost a game with it. It's just stupid-crazy-powerful; IMO, as close to a no-skill-required list as X-Wing has. And, as I alluded to before, it's because Dengaroo relies on three cards with Stress-as-a-(non)-drawback. The Mindlink lists only use the one.

Zuckuss, though, is simply broken. He needs to be fixed because regardless of how you feel about things now, every future design involving a ship with a Crew slot is seriously constrained by Zuckuss' existence.

Looking to future design is a fair point.

Mindlink lists also aren't doing anything other than ending up with a couple of extra focus tokens. That's nice and all but it's not really game changing. Attani just lets you cheaply add some action efficiency to ships. Dengaroo on the other hand, is stacking defensive modifiers with an endless stack of focus tokens, and is able to increase the chance that green dice fail you, possibly twice a round.

For me. I spend 150$ on regionals tickets and my boss hands me a stack of papers I need to go ever before Monday That gives me stress. Ugh.

Stress abuse is having to wrangle two hormonal teenage girls out the door in the morning and then working all day with people with serious issues all day..I do actions while stressed continually
