Which do you guys prefer and why?
GOT or Arkham Horror
other than the fact that they both happen to use cards, they are not even remotely similar.
One is a cooperative game, meaning you work with the other players, and can be played solo, against a simulated AI encounter deck. It's RPG-esque, meaning your deck stays mostly the same from scenario to scenario, your results let you upgrade your deck, gain new assets. You play each scenario by moving from location to location laid out like a map on the table, investigating and fighting monsters.
Dunno about Game of Thrones, but it's competitive. No "story mode", no RPG flavor, no location management. It is drastically different. Probably two of the most dissimilar titles in their LCG lineup.
I play both. But they're so different I wouldn't know where to begin. The only thing GoT has in common with the FFG's coop games is that it can accomodate 4 players.
