Calgary Regionals - Episode 9 of the Board Game Battles Podcast
I'll have to listen to this when I get home as it is I guess technically my 'meta' although I am a ways away. Where did you guys drive in from? How many people showed up for the Regionals?
We drove in from Edmonton so it's about a 2.5hr drive. We had 10 show up. A mix of Imperials and Mercs with I think only 1 Rebel list.
Were there any Regionals up in Edmonton this year? That's a bit of an easier drive from Saskatoon than Calgary. I started following Mission Games on facebook it seems they host a few tournaments a year, any others in that area?
Not yet. Sentry Box in Calgary seems to be the only place applying for Regionals currently. I know Mission can apply but they haven't bothered to yet. When Store Championships start up again I imagine there will be at least one in Edmonton probably at Mission.
Thank you for sharing this on the forums. I'm excited to check out new IA stuff on podcasts.

Awesome, if/when that happens if you remember come post here so I can drive up to be your guys punching bag for the day ![]()
My LGS has done Star Wars LCG regionals the past 2 years, last year they had 2 people show up and this year they got I think 8 total, 2 were from Edmonton and 2 from La Ronge. They told me that they can't risk asking for it and then having a low attendance that would prevent them from getting it again in the future... but it seems like to me the LCG has had really low attendance anyway. I think they might just not want to front the cost of it.
Edited by FrogTriggerNice report guys
Although I want to clarify one thing. Last Resort does NOT have to be used on the first figure that dies in a multi figure group. Because deplete is a cost (similar to exhaust) it is always optional. That's why they don't add in the word "may" into the sentence. So Last Resort on Hired Guns, the player controlling the Guns gets to decide if he wants to use when his figure is defeated

That's how I originally interpreted it. Jeff thought that there was a different ruling on that for Last Resort but I haven't found anything and that link indicates it would be optional.
Thanks
