A little bit of Conflict for hurting people with the Force?

This is also the game that says Luke is an Ace even if much of the later days versions of Luke are far more Force-focused, so there's no need to find a "perfect" fit.

No. Luke can only be a Sentinel. It is well documented that he favored Djem-So. And he's on the cover of Endless Vigil. And you can't change careers.

Because you're *wrong.* Wrong!

Luke Skywalker is absolutely a Sentinel. He's the poster boy for the career. I wouldn't be surprised if they created the Sentinel career just for Luke. I don't even know how someone would think otherwise. It's so obvious. :P

Actually, Luke is a Warrior: Starfighter Ace. There is no other way a starting character could destroy the Death Star. That is why you are wrong.

Oh great! Tramp Graphics 2: Electric Boogaloo.

Might I suggest Luke was a Guardian. I mean he does use Fated Duel in Ep V and VI. Being as how the game itself was created specifically to mimic the OT it's clear that the Guardian was based on Luke from Ep V and VI.

No. He flew his T16 Skyhopper in Beggars Canyon. Sentinels don't even have Piloting as a career skill.

No. I disagree. Luke Skywalker is absolutely a Sentinel. He's the poster boy for the career. I wouldn't be surprised if they created the Sentinel career just for Luke. I don't even know how someone would think otherwise. It's so obvious. You are wrong :P

No. Luke is clearly a Sentinel. He is on the cover of Endless Vigil, and the old Canon had him favoring Djem-So.

hey, this is easy!

If you remember the dialogue from A New Hope, Luke actually said he bullseyed womp rats from his T-16. So clearly he's a Sharpshooter who went into Emergent. The only Signature ability that makes sense is the The Bigger They Are... as you can clearly see from the AT-AT on Hoth.

No. Luke clearly use Bind on the AT-AT. The Bigger They Are is too slow.

Wrong. If you read the rules as they are written, you'll realize that Bind I'd meant to work with organics, not objects. That's what makes it Force Push/Pull.

He is clearly using Fated Duel. Furthermore the d20 Guardian class is based on Luke. Since Luke would be a Guardian and the Guardian class is based on Luke, Luke is clearly a Guardian under these rules. There is no other way.

Don't get mad at me I'm merely sticking to my guns.

OMG best thread ever :D

No. The Sentinel was specifically created to fill the gap between Guardian and Consular. And Luke exists in that gap. Therefore, he is a sentinel, because the film makers didn't have the sentinel career when they gave Luke blue lightsaber. And you can't change careers.

Shoot, it's devolved into nonsense, I gotta get in on this.

This topic in a nutshell:

I am one with the Force, the Force is with me. I am one with the Force, the Force is with me. I am one with the Force, the Force is with me. I am one with the Force, the Force is with me. I am one with the Force, the Force is with me. I am one with the Force, the Force is with me. I am one with the Force, the Force is with me. I am one with the Force, the Force is with me. And Chirrut Imway must be the Scholar because he is so knowledgeable of the Force even though he is not Force sensitive...

Okay... Glad that you've got that out of your system, as you're probably going to die horribly now that your moment to shine has passed.

Why wouldn't they? It's not like it being an out of career spec is limiting in any way. It's just an added cost of 10 XP, and a tree you can't link Signature Abilities to, that's all. Neither of those are really all that limiting.

I agree with HappyDaze here. There is no reason why every Jedi would have full access to every lightsaber style. Canon has already established that different Jedi focus on different styles which each fit their individual personalities and abilities.

With as many trees as you'd need to create a good facsimile of a legit Jedi you'd have spent a rather large amount of XP on out of career lightsaber specs. As far as thought experiments go that doesn't seem too bad, but actually trying to progress such a character would be miserable.

I disagree. You can get a pretty decent full on Jedi with just two or three Specializations. Not only that, but you can have two Jedi with completely different combinations of careers and specs.

Why would Yoda have to have those talents? Does not having them absolutely prevent him from doing anything we have seen him do?

Why wouldn't he?

Why are those mechanically essential?

Yoda has been established in the canon as being very knowledgeable about the Force and Jedi lore; even more so than any other Jedi within the Order of his day. This certainly supports him having Knowledge Specialization (Lore). He has also been shown to meditate on the Force extremely frequently, and for long duration, and gets strength from this meditation, which is what One with the Universe does. He has also been shown to be a more than able negotiator, both within the Council, and when dealing with diplomatic missions. Thus Natural Negotiator is quite appropriate for him.
