Ahh, that's great. I could use a good relax.... wait a second. Tasting?

By the by - Den of Thieves is mission 4... I just played and recorded a match on my camera and haven't got around yet to editing it together. Looking forward to your take on it. It was fun, and VERY close both runs.

I'd say that den of thieves holds up relatively well. I think it can be broken, but not too badly. And it's pretty easy to have a good time playing it regardless

I'm 30 minutes in, more on tomorrow's drive. Couple of fact checks for you guys from a former Star Wars fanatic (not as up to date with new EU) that I picked up for you guys.

Hobbie is in Empire. Luke calls him out on radio during the speeder combat scene a couple of times, but he's not shown on camera in the cockpit. He gets a line when Leia is briefing the pilots and was portrayed by Richard Oldfield. New canon also has him defect from the Imperial Academy during a Rebels episode too.. But hey, Phil, your favourite pilot is canon. That said, in the novelization of Empire he dies during the attack so um... His later appearances and survival on Hoth is in question.

Leia also is noted as flying a Ywing in Return of the Jedi, novelization. After escaping Jabba there was a scene before leaving Tatooine where our heroes meet up in a sandstorm next to an Xwing, the Falcon, and a Ywing which Leia used to get there. She flies a Naboo fighter in the new comics, the Falcon badly in Empire maybe (that wasn't a laser blast. Something hit us!) and old EU Splinter of the Minds Eye had her fly a Ywing as well... Ok that book... Yeah, it was written before Emmpire was released and should be ignored. Wasn't that good anyway. Never an Xwing though...

Anyway... If I get that video of mission 4 spliced I will link it back to this thread.

If the ewoks ever get out of control, my y-wings and u-wing are in need of some pilots and gunners, squadron y.u.b. Can't be y.u.b. Without some ewoks

You need to fly epic so you can have y.u.b y.u.b!

I'm so glad to hear that you guys like this mission! It's one of my favorites. I agree that it just doesn't feel right without a transport ship as the smuggler. I'm very keen to try the Ghost in that role, imagining that the ships are TIE Adv. Prototypes.

A HWK-299 also sounds like fun, but none of the Rebels have abilities that will make them good smugglers. They're all built for support. I guess that's good to keep fighters off their backs by buffing allies.

I want to add one more thing to what @LagJanson said about Hobbies. He is allergic to bacta. Makes all those crashes especially tough on him. He's almost more machine now than man, or so the rumors go. If you haven't read Luke Skywalker and the Shadows of Mindor, don't. But I highly recommend any X-wing player go to a library or book store and take just a few minutes to read the opening scene with X-wings vs. TIE defenders. Hobbies has a great moment there.

Will do...as soon as my area loses their belief that epic is dead...and I'd need to buy another u-wing

love the episode so far (we're good this time, we both read the rules... 5 minutes later - dammit we got it wrong again)

i had an idea for a Leia pilot card that may work (and buff up rebels) put her at mid PS (5-6 or so) and have the ability as;

"When a friendly ship is attacking, If you are in the defenders arc at range 1-3 the attacker may roll an additional die"

Would make for some interesting lists and would fit with the whole "protect the princess/general" ideas. it may become a bit OP with Snapshot, opportunist combo (a 4 dice unmodifiable roll on a tokenless ship)

I may try the mission with my son soon and run it with the Ghost and a wings for the rebels and use ties and a Tap or two for imperials to make it a thematic rebels list

I noticed Jim led with that at the start! get Jbot in protocol mode to just add that tag line whenever he can!
