IGaroo Ideas

By Rinzler in a Tie, in X-Wing Squad Lists

Trying to optimize a list using Manaroo and IG-88C. Here are my dilemmas:

EPT: There are really two routes I want to go explore: Push the Limit on both OR Attanni Mindlink on both. Points is important, but this list isn't worried about points. Action economy, however, is invaluable. Attanni is very useful, but doesn't play into another combination I was aiming for: Engine Upgrade+IG-88D crew on Manaroo. Manaroo suddenly needs to decide if she's boosting OR focusing to give the focus to IG-88C. Doesn't jive. Push the Limit allows all the actions, but often leaves both ships stressed. This can be inhibiting but having a focus and evade token to give to IG every turn is really useful.

Crew/Astromech: As mentioned above, I am stuck between taking the IG-88D crew on Manaroo OR taking something like K4 Security Droid. IG-88 craves Target Locks, so K4 and Unhinged helps. What about FCS? Well, yeah, that works, but that's one less action for the ship that wants to boost or focus. Never quite understood Overclocked and Attanni on anything but Dengaroo - does it fit here? R4 Aggromech has its place, but Manaroo assigns rather than spends focus tokens.

System: I really like the Push the Limit and Advanced Sensors combination on IG-88C, especially if it leaves the him with two evades, a focus, and a target lock (Manaroo: focus, boost+evade. IG-88C: Advanced Sensors: boost+evade, target lock, stress, green and clear stress).

The real question is: Push the Limit and Advanced Sensors OR Attanni Mindlink?
Thoughts?

Manaroo
- Attanni Mindlink
- Operations Specialist or ...?
- R4 Agromech
- Feedback Array
- Punishing One

IG-88B
- Attanni Mindlink
- Fire Control System
- Heavy Laser Cannon
- Mangler Cannon
- Inertial Dampeners
- Autothrusters

I want to like the IG-D but there are so many limiting factors. Only certain ships can get a cannon and crew, sometimes you don't want to boost, and how many shields are you going to regenerate in a firefight anyway, 1-2? I feel that mindlink is more beneficial on 3+ships, so 2 big super ships may get limited use from it, especially with the number of times you want to K-turn. You may almost be better off going bare bones and trying to squeeze a 3rd ship like kato leechos to supply the focus and keep your other ships lean and mean and just power hitting. Which ship would take the front position vs the rear?

Absolutely. Thank you for putting my grievance into words. This is what was bothering about this list.
And I already attempted to do what you suggested, thoughts? Not sure about the R4 Agromech or Kavil for that matter:

IG-88C
- Attanni Mindlink
- Autothrusters

Manaroo
- Attanni Mindlink
- R4 Agromech

31 points of your Scum choosing:

Kavil
- Attanni Mindlink
- Twin Laser Turret

I don't know if this is any good, but it seems fun!

This is probably better though. You'll fly Serissu behind Manaroo and the Aggressor using Tractor Beam to lower agility and maybe shift a potential attacker off line while IG88 and Manaroo deal some damage. Should be pretty tough to hit with Serissu defensive bonus and the Evade tokens plus Mindlink stuff.
