Extra Ordinance and Scavenger Crane

By GrogEgrog, in X-Wing

So can Scavenger Crane retrieve extra ordinance or just the card itself?

" After a ship at Range 1-2 is destroyed, you may choose a discarded Torpedo , Missile , Bomb , Cannon , Turret or Modification Upgrade card that was equipped to your ship and flip it faceup. Then roll 1 attack die. On a blank result, discard Scavenger Crane."

Instinct says no but boy a yes would be fun.

Just the card itself. Which you have no way to discard outside of getting hit by Boba Fett, who you can use the munitions token EM places on itself to stop, anyway.

So... yeah. Nothing to see here. Move along, move along.

What is Extra Ordinance? Do you mean Extra Munition tokens?

The best argument is those are tokens and not upgrade cards. Extra Munitions put tokens at the start of the game. So no Scavenger Crane will not retrieve EM tokens. Also if Scavenger crane retrieves a <torpedo>, <missile>, or <bomb> upgrade on a ship equipped with EM it will not place an EM token on that upgrade.

So in summary.

  • Can't use it until something is discarded
  • discarded items come back alone when retrieved

On the other hand, if your opponent is dumb enough to Boba your EM card and you use Scavenger Crane to replace it, do you get to place a fresh ordnance token on each secondary weapon?

Boba fett wouldn't even be able to get rid of EM because there's technically a munitions token on it as well

No, he could. The munitions rules only state that you MAY discard the token instead of the upgrade. You don't actually have to do that.

However once you discard EM, the effects of the munitions tokens go away as well, so you'd never want to discard EM itself

People use Fett crew?

Why are your ships carrying around extra laws?

(The word you're looking for is ordnance . #xwingpetpeeves)

Maybe his ship is in a crossover with 2000 AD and they are ferrying Judge Death.
