X-Wing Vassal module v6.4.0 is now out with 1-click Squad AutoSpawn

Seems like it would need to have a standard that gets coordinated through the Squad Builder sites as an added value to each ship. Each ship gets the default skin, but with a dropdown for changing it in Vassal play. The Importer would then just pick the correct ship graphic based on the chosen value.

this idea would work, but only with a time-consuming that we'd impose on the maintainers of the squad builders like some kind of plague, every time new ship paint schemes come out.

Instead, we have a local file inside the module called the "build" and it lists in XML format every object inside the mode with a corresponding unique id value. We also have some kind of "special link file" where some entries in the XWS format is linked to specific ids inside the vassal module. That's where these numerous special associations will occur.

I appreciate you guys thinking of a solution for this, but the bottom line is just the lack of time - everything can't be done at once. We'll get to it and we know how.

No worries. Already tried it out and the new importer is awesome. Going to be especially handy for flying swarms again! Please buy someone a small ship on with my thanks. :D

There's an even better solution you haven't thought of Mu0n- Delete all the alternate paint jobs in the module, act as if they never existed, and anytime someone asks you what happened to them, say, "What are you talking about? We've always only had one ship model available for each ship."

Does anyone have a link to a good guide on how to use Vassal? The only ones I can find assume some player experience with vassal and the how to tips are similar. Cheers

Check in the Useful links topic , under Vassal section, the Muoon'S faq one

It looks good but was hoping for something more step by step. It describes dragging ships to your player hand window but I'm not sure how to get this window open.

Realise these are probably just idiot questions and I'll see if I can find a video guide on YouTube.

If you entered as Player 1, just click on the "1" button on top.

If you are pl 2, click on the 2, and so on
