SirTainly paints teeny tiny ships (badly)

By SirTainly, in Star Wars: Armada Painting and Modification

Finally got my first 3 Scyks done! (these are from Mels)

They look spot on. Nice work, especially around the cockpits.

Yes, very nice!

As much as I don't like the typical M3-A colour scheme, I love how you pulled it off! Awesome to see and extremely well executed. "Badly", pah, I'll believe that when I see it and I don't see nothing of the sort round here! The only thing that could be qualified as 'badly' around here is how badly I want to see more of this from ya, mate.

Good on ya, and again, well done :)

Or my first try interceptors where I didn't thin my paints. Lol.

Thanks guys, I will post up some more shortly, but I'm waiting on the weather to warm up a bit so I can prime some more fighters.

In the meanwhile, these are a few of my other ships

How did you end up fabricating the fins on the RG squints?

Styrene strip and an Xacto knife.

Wow!

Badly my butt! ;-)

Worked a bit more on one of my bigger ships

Wanted a kind of Hound's Tooth scheme as it's for a 'pirate' force - trying to build up 3rd faction forces for a campaign I hope to run later in the year.

Ah, the forces of Not-Prince-Xivor! (*cough* licensing *cough* continuity *cough*). I'm really liking the idea of a 3rd faction too, but such investment, much cost, very ramen noodles for months on end, wow!

Great look, a motley almost-asteroid looking thing. I was thinking browns/greys/greens, basically Weequay in ship form.

I'm not familiar with that design. What is it and where did you get it?

It's a Mandalorian built Crusader Corvette from Mel's ( I think someone else on Shapeways does a different variant too)

No updater for a while as I've been ill, and also working on another project that was time critical, anyway here are some more Scyks.

I'm confused by your definition of the world "badly"

Compared to some of the people on here; I marvel at the shading they get on Armada fighters! :)

These look mighty fine to me, I'd be more than happy with these results.

At this scale and when viewed from far, it's lovely.

Each of us will have our distinct style, theme and references... Though there are repaints which I find sacrilegious all thanks to the colour choices...

That's a really misleading thread title.

You scratch build those second set of sycks?

Can you believe that I saw this thread several times, and only NOW I've realised that FFG hasn't released the Scyks for Armada and those are mine :D

haha, yes they are yours! :) (I even said that in the first post ;))

Just wish Shapeways weren't quite so pricey, as these tonnes more I'd like to buy but can't justify it, especially when the prices are so exchange rate elastic as well.
