Right now I have a Shadow Caster, Upsilon Shuttle, Ghost, and Hound's Tooth that need storage. Will any fit in the 10 deep compartment Stanley? If not, then what non-foam and non-huge-top-bin-compartment can fit ANY of them? (all of this assumes I'm not willing to break them apart)
Right now I'm eyeing these two.
#1.) ArtBin 6990AB Super Satchel Double Deep with Removable Dividers
#2.) Plano Deep Hydro Flo Box 3700 Deep Size
Edited by f0rbiddenc00kieThe Tooth is easy - pop the wings off and it gets a LOT more convenient. Even if you're usually unwilling, that one's so easy to do.
Option 2 is similar to what I carry my Flames of War tanks in, I'm not sure it would be big enough for the large ships. Though I can't find their measurements so I might be wrong.
My ups shuttle fits around the yt2400 like it's hugging

I have the Dewalt version of the deep case and it is housing the Ghost, the Hound's Tooth, and the Upisilon.
Edit: Shadowcaster as well.

Here is a photo. You can see that the Upsilon is sharing space with the Hound's Tooth. I have 3 of these cases stacked. The other two house epic ships.

They are almost exactly the same, but Stanley has slightly better space utilization. Here are some additional photos for size comparison.
It stacks on top of the Dewalt and is slightly smaller.
Here it is next to them, same height. This shows why I prefer the Dewalt since they can lock together.
The Dewalt insert actually fit into the Stanley case.
The Hound's Tooth fit slightly better into the Stanley insert.

All my large ships go in the tops of my Plano 1374's. I have one for each faction.

I used to keep all my large based ships in the top of my 1374, but I got too many of them. I use Sir Willis' tuck boxes and a Plano 3700 now. It holds all of my large based ships, but it's full. I can probably fit more in if I take them out of the boxes, but I worry about them banging around.
I had a thread where I showed what I stored them all in and my Plano 3700. I fit my Epic ships in 3700's as well.

The ships always fit in the blister pack they come in. I have a 64 litre box I bought from Office Depot that the blisters stack really well in, and then just transport the blisters in the box that I use to play with.
Seems simplest to me.

Yes... yes, it helps a lot. Thank you very much! There are so many good potential cases out there, but sometimes it's just so hard to tell whether things will actually fit in them until you've actually tried it or seen a picture of someone try it.
one reason I haven't picked up the "tooth" yet is I'm worried where it will go. My Shadowcaster already lives separate from the rest of the fleet. I've been using my ghost a lot, and it's been living in my stanley box similar to whats above, but the shallow style.
The shallow stanley box is my going out to game box, it holds all my tokens, bombs, obstacles, templates, dice, and I can usually fit 3 or 4 squads in there too. Right now...and it's the most packed its been in a while I got: 2x Uwings, 3x Xwings, 4x E-Wings (don't ask), Y-Wing, K-Wing, Falcon, Ghost, Arc170, 2 Sabine Ties, and a Quadjumper. Not to mention a pile of upgrade cards, both damage decks, and dials (6 of which are in the plastic dial kits). It's packed very very strategically, but it all fits!
Another time i had the Shadowcaster, Jump Master, Falcon, Lambda, U-Wing, 2 Xwings, Hawk, Ewing, Tie Interceptor, Tie Bomber, Tie Defender, Tie Adv. Prototype, and a quartet of A-Wings... tight fit then too
but I use the standard plano cases otherwise..and I don't know what I'm going to do when I finally buy the Tooth and the Ups.

The Hound's Tooth barely doesn't fit in the shallow Stanley 25 compartment case, which I own. The head of the ship is just a few millimeters too big to allow the case to close properly.
However... how the HELL did you manage to get the Ghost to fit in the shallow 25 Stanley?!? That must be a typo. It's like 2.5in tall in a 1.75in tray. Pics or it didn't happen.

Useful. Thank you. Do you happen to have much of the newer wave big ships like the Shadow Caster, Upsilon Shuttle, Ghost, and U-Wing? Hound's Tooth I guess, too. I ask because I have no idea what you got since you took your pictures and how they would fit. The internet has a severe shortage of storage pictures for the newer X-Wing waves.

I don't have the Bat Wing, but I have all the others in the Plano 3700 tray. It can hold things pretty deep. It's a good tray.

All the others, huh? That IS helpful! I was considering a Plano 732 since it also comes with 3700 stowaways, and I like the look of the 732 more than the 1374. I also recall someone mentioning that the Bat Wing has extremely similar profile to the TIE-Punisher (except waaaay taller), so if you can fit a TIE-Punisher on its side then you can fit a Bat Wing.
I've use both the 732 and the 1374. I find the 1374 better for storing the large ships, but the 732 waaaaay better for storing everything else.
