Painting your armies

By Elrad, in Runewars Miniatures Game

That sucks...I have not had that problem with them...as to what lines, all of them are great...Game color is a bit limited, but the model color line is big...also, they have a panzer aces line with some great colors...check out the Vallejo website, you can get the pdfs with all there colors.

I've had some problems with army painter stuff (except the shades, love them!) but many people swear by them.

Good is what you like...heck, I still use Testors model master enamels...

By the way, I get most of my paint on Amazon...Amazon prime is worth every cent...

The War Gamer is a great youtube channel for model painting. His most recent, How To Paint A WW1 Renault FT17 is a great look at the pre-shading technique I talked about earlier in this thread. He does an amazing hob of describing techniques both verbally and visual, uses models and paints from many different companies, and does it all in an approachable manor.

I just found this and because i think it's hillarious i thought i share it with you:

Tangential to painting, more a conversion/rebasing question.

but do we have a confirmation on base size?

If anybody is interested, Sorastro will be covering two Runewars miniatures this month. He's got great tutorials.

Just came in to post this, if you guys haven't checked out Sorastro's videos you really should. They are beginner friendly but also uses some pretty advanced techniques in his more recent videos. He is the reason I got into painting. I never thought I would be able to paint minis to a decent quality but his videos are that good. His videos for RuneWars will be a great resource for new and veteran mini painters alike.

I've yet to find a match to his production quality and teaching ability. He also keeps a chart updated to convert his paints from Citadel to Vallejo for those who aren't GW fans. I use Citadel, i started because he was using it in the videos, but kept using it because of the insane quality. It is expensive compared to Vallejo that's for sure.. I've got a few Vallejo paints as well though and can see why people like them. There really is no cheap option in my small Canadian city though, Vallejo offers more paint but is similar in cost, and ordering anything online to ship here is usually as much in shipping as the actual product. Amount of paint is yet to be an issue for me, the only paint I might have to replace soon is my white but some of the others like black, grey, red etc.. I've been using for over a year and still have lots left.

I guess painting an entire army would use a lot more of one type of paint though than jumping around with IA and Descent figures. But in essence then the price is a wash as I would have to buy less variety of paints..
