[Officially answered/resolved] Farthest space? (fighting card spoiler)

By Aelitafrommars, in Mansions of Madness

I have trouble interpreting what it wants me to do. Farthest - in the room? on the entire board? Does 'of' means anything different than 'from'?

Indeed, not very clear. I interpret it to mean 'you & the HoT move to the space on the board currently most far away from the HoT'.

Yeah, seems like something went wrong with this one. Shoot an email to FFG and ask

I went with frekol's interpretation for now (thanks!).

Even so, counting the farthest space on the map by measure of steps is time consuming, so i went with the space that measured farthest away in metrics. This game never seems to do that so i'm sure it's not the intended procedure, but it was fast and seemed to fit the theme of HoT.

I'll mail this to FFG and will post here when there's an official answer.

Pretty obviously a typo. Should read "... farthest space from the Hound of Tindalos."

Also, the game can often ask you to count long distances - monsters moving toward the nearest investigator (or toward a specific tile or token) when the monster is very far away requires doing a quick bit of counting as well. With the maps as they are, it's pretty easy to get a general idea of where you need to 'aim' for a "farthest space" then do a couple of quick counts to confirm or modify the destination.

I got this answer (see quotation)! Seems the app concatenated a faulty combination of strings. The rate of occurence is arguably pretty low, but between the next update and on the occasion you'd get something similar, just pick a room at random somehow.

This message is an error. The app should be calling a random room. This ought to be fixed in the next update. Thanks for bringing it to our attention!

And thanks for playing,
