C-ROC preview image analysis

By AEIllingworth, in X-Wing

This is my best attempt at explaining and logic-ing as much as possible from the image of the C-ROC and card spread from the preview article, https://www.fantasyflightgames.com/en/news/2017/1/9/bargains-bribes-and-battles/

swx58_spread.png

First, the easy ones. The Ship itself, a Scyk interceptor with a new paint scheme, bases and dials for each, a huge ship maneuver template, the C-ROC damage deck, four shield tokens for the C-ROC and one for the Scyk, three stress tokens, one critical token, one focus token, one evade token, one reinforce token, and three "67" tokens to label ships on the board.

Next, the cards. Pilot cards , left to right. Cartel Spacer and Tansarri Point Veteran come with the Scyk blister pack already. We have PS 1, 3, 6, and 7 cards that appear to be new for the Scyk, and the article tells us that they are all "aces". The cardboard base for the PS3 is shown in the Scyk paintjob preview image, the name is Inaldra. http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Inaldra . Finally, the pilot card for the C-ROC itself.

Top row of upgrade cards:

Six copies of swx58-light-scyk-interceptor.png

Second row:

Five copies of unknown card. Appears to begin with ARC and have the cannon icon. I suspect a Scyk only cannon, or a cannon that costs 4 points (this is so TIE/d can't use it but you could still use five copies with Cartel Spacers).

Two copies of a card that looks to show the band from the bar in A New Hope.

Single unknown card.

Another unknown card.

Jabba the Hutt

Third Row:

All look to not have an icon in the bottom left, meaning all titles and modifications.

Five copies of an unknown card, could be scyk modifications with the same logic as the cannons earlier, or a third title.

Automated Protocols (available in the Gozanti)

Optimized Generators (available in the Gozanti)

Three likely titles for the C-ROC, the third being swx58-merchant-one.png

That covers the cards, on to:

Mystery Tokens

Two Weapons Disabled tokens. Previously only for expansions with a SLAM option. Two tokens suggests gently that it may have something to do with the Bith Band upgrade card, being the only two-copy unknown card.

Two hyperspace tokens, similar to those in the Jumpmaster 5000 expansion?

10 illicit tokens. Suggestively, similar size, shape, and color to extra munitions tokens.

Three familiar looking yellow tokens stacked with two more that could be the obverse.

One large Cargo-looking Debris cloud.

Things I find odd

Only getting six energy tokens is strange. The C-ROC has four energy as a base, we know Merchant One adds one, and the Heavy Laser Turret starts a game of epic with two. That means it should come with a minimum of seven energy tokens to be entirely playable out of the box, and more if the other titles raise the energy cap higher.

Anything else that jumped out at any of you? Any cards with art anyone recognizes? Does anyone have eyes good enough to read the PS3 Scyk base name? Edit: Inaldra, as pointed out by ABXY

One other point, only releasing one Heavy Scyk Title with this makes sense, because each individual expansion already comes with one copy so every Scyk model can have its title. A little unfortunate that the errata is changing the words, but it seems pretty reasonable to me.

"What is that awful music coming over my headset??? Oooops I forgot to fire!!!!!!!" = Disable token?

A canon that has two illicit tokens? What could that be all about? I assume it might be scum only? I don't have a magnifier....any wording after the title?

Analysis complete, Jabba the Hutt confirmed. :P ;)

There was an ion-type weapon in either the Clone Wars or Rebels that was illegal because it disrupted the nervous system of the target as well as disabling electrical systems.

Found: the T-7 ion disruptor rifle. So perhaps a scaled up version which deals stress and ion?
