(3x) T-70 under Kyle Doerhoff in multiple regional cuts

By condoralienmidge, in X-Wing

This player made the cut with (3x) T-70s in 3 regionals: Colorado, Minnesota and Montana.

I have found one of his matches streamed.

Denver Colorado regional top 4 (skip to 10h 55m) vs Corran-Miranda: https://www.twitch.tv/videos/119675818

Poe (8) , Adaptability, R5-P9, Pattern Analyser, Autothrusters

Nien Nunb , Snap Shot, R3-A2, Integrated Astro, Black One.

Jess Pava , Snap SHot, R2-D6, Integrated Astro.

So, T-70s?

Edit: This has sneaked past Juggler because two of the regionals haven't uploaded, and in the one that has, the player made the cut but dropped and his place was awarded to someone else.

Cool. I love T-70s.

I tried to run triple T-70s for a while in last years' store champs, usually Poe, Red Ace, and a Red Vet, but found with the prevalence of TLTs I needed more autothrusters and ended up swapping Red Ace for Jake Farrell. Now that there are some new T-70 pilots and TLTs aren't quite as prevalent maybe I should dust the triple-X list off. Jess Pava is particularly awesome for her low cost.

Hey congrats! I got your name from the stream so I'm sorry for getting it wrong. I've edited the post now.

Would you care to comment on the squad and tactics?

Yeah for sure man! To be successful with this list you have to fly the T-70 very aggressively while maintaining formation. Formation is a huge part in the list because it not only makes the best use of Pavas ability but also because it gives your opponent a tough choice for target priority. During tough match ups I look for who I can stress with nien and try to guess where they'll be next so I can green his stress of and get there to get the infamous double stress/no stress. And with poe's pattern analyzer he can focus after the talons and k-turns which just makes him deadly.

I have a good friend who's determined to take XWings to Hoth. Totally passing this on.

How Did you develop plans for /7 Defenders and other token stackers?

As a fellow T-70 fan, I'm very interested in your views.

Glad to see ANY X-wings doing well. Even if they aren't GUNBOATS. Who needs speed 1 turns?

I absolutely love that Nien Numb build! I had never thought of R3-A2 and Snap shot combo on ol' Slobberface, definitely stealing that for the 3 T-70 list I occasionally bring out. Though I prefer M9-G8 on Jess because Poe hates rolling blanks and she can fix that.

But I've never played it competitively so what do I know.

Oooooo, I like the idea of putting M9-G8 on Jess. That gives the opponent a tough choice for which one to go after first, the regenerating Ace, the unhindered Stressbot, or the supportive Dice Modifier.

Dang, yet another good build option on what to fly in San Diego this weekend...so many choices.
