So this seems like a simple question, and I know I've heard the answer somewhere on a demo video, but are surges multiplied by the number of facing trays in melee combat? If a formation of Oathsworn Cavalry 2x2 charge in, they roll RRB. Lets say the red dice give a miss and a hit, and the blue dice gives a double-surge. Does the second tray on the front of the formation then multiply that to be 2 hits and 4 surges? or just 2 hits and 2 surges? I'm trying to figure out how big a formation of spearmen/cavalry would need to be to reliably generate enough surges to get 1/2/3 inspiration tokens.
Second, does this 'number of facing trays' multiplier also affect ranged units? I think it must or they would do terrible damage. How is the facing determined for ranged units? I remember them in a video just measuring once for ranges, but not checking facings for them. Is it just corner to corner to figure arcs, or is there indicators on the base?
