So have never really looked at ions before, because the damage is so low. But after getting hit with connor nets yesterday was wondering if this is something that could actually be competitive given that a) cause, defenders, and b) mindlink economy. Would be keeping Dace back just at range 3 skirting perimeter until a primary target peels off to engage. Go for the ion tag with 1 turn interceptors. Once initial threat has been sufficiently neutralized, then go in for the EMP and attempt to just overwhelm it with juice and walk it off the board. Seeking feedback.

Ion turret is range 1-2, you may actually do better with the vectored thrusters and inspiring recruit. Honestly Dace is still too expensive, Scyk isn't that great at Mindlink and you still don't have a damage dealer. Variety is better. Throw in a mangler somewhere or HLC or a fenn rau to take advantage of the ion

I think Dace is going to be causing problems in an Attani Squad. Every time you trigger his ability you are giving stress to every ship of yours that isn't already stressed. The Scyks don't have a green enough dial to be stuck on green maneuvers. I'd probably leave Attani off of Dace if you wanted to give it a try. I think you might be going a little overboard with the Ion Weapons since Dace can only really trigger his ability once per round.

For the same 31 points, I think that this Dace may do a better job for you. He's going to take a couple of TLT shots at whatever the Scyks are shooting which should clear off some tokens for them. If the Scyks are packing Ion Cannons you have more than enough Ion weapons without Dace needing one himself. He still has the EMP as way to trigger his own ability at least once.

I say fly it as is a few times. Scyks are quite good with Mindlink, though I have been flying Cartel Spacers to shave points and they are still respectable.

I think the problem you have is that Dace is looking to do damage, but all your other ships are more suited to walking someone off the board. Once you go control, go all out on control. X wing seems to be in a state where all rounders can't compete, you want to specialize as hard as you can.

Dace is expensive, and tags extra damage on to someone that you have pretty well neutralized as a threat. I do like the EMP, and you just felt the effectiveness of Conners. Maybe try a Quadjumper in that spot? Zuvio or Plank can take Mindlink, bomb, illicits, and potentially the tractor Array to make the Ion cannons more likely to hit.

Total forgot about stress Bonearm.

quadjumper seems like a good compromise. Based on some of the observations here, looking at this now. Zuvio can wreck some havok, and being a in your face target that keep the more manuevrable Scyks free from attacks to flank and hit...
