Norra Wexley (3 evades)

By Cgriffith, in X-Wing Rules Questions

1. Let’s say she had C3PO, a focus token, and a TL on the attacker
2. You guess 0 (correctly) on the one green dice you roll (C3PO), get an evade result (1) which then gets Juke’d to a focus
3. Then you can spend her TL to get another focus result, then spend the focus token to get two evades.

So her EPT gives you an <focus>, you used the her action to get a <focus> BUT how do those convert to Evades without an evade token, exactly? I have played her a few times and would really like to know the trigger/cause of the flipping from <focus> to <evade> without an evade action?

Evade Action gives you 1 Evade Token. You may spend 1 Evade Token per attack to ADD 1 Evade Result to your roll. This literally means take another die and put it in the dice pool evade side up.

Focus Token change ALL eyeball results in a given roll to either hit or evade, depending on whether the person spending the token is attacking or defending. Change is the operative word.

Focus and Evade are two entirely different things. Evade can be spent to cancel one hit or crit result. Focus can be spent offensively or defensively to change the results of your roll.

Read the Rules Reference and FAQ. Thoroughly. You can download the most recent versions on FFG's X-wing page.

Norra's pilot ability, printed in her pilot card allows her to spend a target lock to add a focus result. This is not the same as an "EPT." Elite Pilot Talents are upgrades with the medallion icon. Norra can equip one because she has one such icon in her upgrade bar.

Thank you @jmswood

Guess 0 with 3po. Roll an eyeball, get an extra evade. Spend tl and focus for 3. Then regen a shield...

Yes, I feel dumb now; I was overthinking mechanics.
