If you want a duke it out style ship the ewing is good but it isn't quite optimal with corran specifically.

Now this is interesting. I am curious what you recommend. I have always loved E'tahn but he lacks pilot skill, which makes me think he can't use the ship so it's maximum potential. I have always considered the generics overpriced.

Corran has been my main man for the past year. He's is a ton of fun to fly, but yes... you cannot make a single mistake or your done.

I've played three different variants of him to varying degrees of success.

v1: PTL/FCS/Engine/R2D2 - played both with and without Engine. definitely need engine. engine booster is probably more important than PTL in my opinion... I have the most experience using this build and it is good. but really relies on killing stress which is pretty hard with the limited slow greens. If we had a 3/4/5 green straight things would be a lot easier. This has been my most successful build using a hit and fade technique with Mr. Horn. Usually with Han or Dash as wingmates.

v2: VI/FCS/Engine/R2D2 - I like this build a lot. Especially as it put him at PS10 which is very effective against the majority of the ace meta. He has been my MVP each time i've fielded him like this. I find I'm flying a bit more carefully when I can't double my actions. A good answer this is flying him with Ashoka. He gets PS10, an extra action from Ashoka in the combat phase... it works very nicely.

v3: PTL/Advanced Sensors/Engine/R2D2 - I just started playing with this one and realizing how amazing it can be, especially with some stress relievers out there... you can do your stacking ahead of your move, clear it with the green. It gets rid of the threat of being blocked as well. One of my favorites is to boost, 5 straight. Gets you out of the action and helps setup for that hit and fade a bit easier. Once again, pairing with Ashoka with Inspiring Recruit is really fun! Because now we can token up, K-Turn, and then next turn relieve both stresses with Ashoka. Then the turns where you double action/green to clean stress you can give an additional action in the combat phase.

is a theory I have yet to execute..... but plan on it soon. In theory it should allow Corran 4 actions a turn! Adv Sensors - boost - ptl barrel roll - clear stress, ashoka evade - garven uses focus on attack (shooting before Corran) passes Focus to Corran. Corran now has focus/evade and has boosted/barrel rolled with NO STRESS. You could also double focus if you felt that was going to be a better move too...

the fault with the list... Garven will die easily. The big thing about Corran lists is that his wingman needs to be meaner than him.

generics are overpriced. Ethan is fun in the following build:

Etahn A'baht (32)
Snap Shot (2)
Sensor Jammer (4)
Advanced Proton Torpedoes (6)
R2-D2 (4)
Engine Upgrade (4)

Wes Janson (29)

R3-A2 (2)
Integrated Astromech (0)

Bandit Squadron Pilot (12)
Assault Missiles (5)
Guidance Chips (0)

Not very competitive, but I thought it was a lot of fun. My opponent was shocked at how much damage Etahn spit out! He was dumb and flew into snap shot range with Poe. This gave me my FCS even though I didn't get any damage though. Then I slapped him silly with Advanced Protons rolling 3 focus and two blanks. luckily I had my token :) Poof went Poe as Wes shot first and stripped Poes own Focus and softened him up a bit. Of course I proceeded to loose because Rey is a.......

I might fool around with this idea. Unlike Corran who should be a favorite of mine, Wes absolutely is.

Etahn with swarm tactics, R2D2, 2 prototype pilots, and biggs with the astromech that raises agility creates a little squad that can crit, block, and survive well. You can also make one of the a wings a green squadron pilot and add draw their fire to increase the aforementioned survivability factor. Fly it straight at your opponent's biggest threat and give it a hefty load of faceups. His pilot skill being low is good as he has the ability to use swarm tactics after most aces have shot, so you know whether or not the A wings still need those evade tokens. Tokens that are guaranteed to be there if biggs survives.
