Hi,
I'm new to GM'ing and this is my first time running an end of the world campaign. So far so good, but I am about to have my PC's enter into conflict with some machines and I'm not sure how to score damage during the conflict to tell whether or not a machine is defeated and destroyed or whether it just takes some damage and retreats to fight another day. How have others solve this problem in resolving the outcomes of combat other than identifying stresses and or traumas suffered by the player characters and the NPC's in the game? Can someone share an example?
