I'm a Sick Man

...and the only cure is More Tarkin!

Tarkin Time

Faction: Galactic Empire
Points: 400/400

Commander: Grand Moff Tarkin

Assault Objective: Most Wanted
Defense Objective: Fighter Ambush
Navigation Objective: Superior Positions

[ flagship ] Victory II-Class Star Destroyer (85 points)
- Grand Moff Tarkin ( 38 points)
- Minister Tua ( 2 points)
- Gunnery Team ( 7 points)
- Electronic Countermeasures ( 7 points)
- Leading Shots ( 4 points)
= 143 total ship cost

Gladiator I-Class Star Destroyer (56 points)

= 60 total ship cost

Arquitens-class Light Cruiser (54 points)
- Dual Turbolaser Turrets ( 5 points)
= 59 total ship cost

Gozanti-class Cruisers (23 points)
= 23 total ship cost

1 Maarek Steele ( 21 points)
2 TIE Defender Squadrons ( 32 points)
1 Colonel Jendon ( 20 points)
1 Morna Kee ( 27 points)
1 Zertik Strom ( 15 points)

I think Tarkin needs more cow bell...

Strategy - Navigate with everyone while Tarkin tosses enough squadron tokens to activate everyone through Jendon.

Not flashy, but just dumb enough to work.

That title made me sad... :(

And so did the list. Man, Biggs, this just... I don't see it. Do you plan to turtle up and pseudo-rogue the squadrons around? I mean, you're kind of locked into doing that anyway, with an upgunned VSD in there. I dunno, I'd love to see how you envision this playing out on the table, cause I just don't see it.

I think that to utilize Tarkin at his best, you may want to add those Engine Techs. An example list that I tried recently and was pleasantly surprised with it's performance:

Tarkittens
Points: 395/400

Commander: Grand Moff Tarkin

Assault Objective: Opening Salvo
Defense Objective: Planetary Ion Cannon
Navigation Objective: Dangerous Territory

[ flagship ] Arquitens-class Command Cruiser (59 points)
- Grand Moff Tarkin ( 38 points)
- Defense Liaison ( 3 points)
- Engine Techs ( 8 points)
- Reinforced Blast Doors ( 5 points)
- Dual Turbolaser Turrets ( 5 points)
= 118 total ship cost

Arquitens-class Command Cruiser (59 points)
- Captain Needa ( 2 points)
- Engine Techs ( 8 points)
- Reinforced Blast Doors ( 5 points)
- Turbolaser Reroute Circuits ( 7 points)
= 81 total ship cost

Victory I-Class Star Destroyer (73 points)
- Warlord ( 8 points)
- Defense Liaison ( 3 points)
- Sensor Team ( 5 points)
- Quad Turbolaser Cannons ( 10 points)
= 99 total ship cost

Raider-I Class Corvette (44 points)
= 44 total ship cost

Gozanti-class Cruisers (23 points)
= 23 total ship cost

1 Ciena Ree ( 17 points)
1 Valen Rudor ( 13 points)

I used Tarkin to a similar effect with a 4 Glad list I used to run. With a nav token to trigger ET every round, you were free to throw cf or engineering as needed

How about Centicore instead of Jendon, and then intel officers with the savings?

Potentially better, depending on how he plans to run it. Though that does require Centicore to be in the thick of it--which may not be compatible with his ideas--whereas Jendon does not.
