Omega Ace with Swarm Leader
Swarm Leader is hard to use, but Omega Leader is a great candidate for it, given his ability. It'll be important he have a TL + Focus though, so make sure Stridan is Coordinating him (I suspect that's your plan).
Let us know how it goes, good luck!
Either Coordinate or Fire Control System/Targeting Synchronizer on the Upsilon. Hux for the Focus of course

It's funny, because I am planning on running an almost identical build tomorrow night. I'm going to run Omega Ace with Swarm leader, Stridsn w/Hux and 2 Taps with proton rockets, title and guidance chips. I originally was going to use 2 Tie/fos with comms relay to keep the entire list First Order themed, but I think the two TAPs will be better/more fun so I'm going that route. Good luck to both of us.
*Sigh* Fine, have my like for the meme...
you may want Countdown in that list, not only is he a great swarm leader feeder (since he dont need no evade), but he is great for Fantacial Devotion also (cause he dont need no focus for defense either!)
Ive been running him in my swarm leader lists and he has been superb. Took three full range 1 shots from Norra and shrugged it off, haha. Then a TLT finally did him in. Think he took over 10 damage (which included like two crits) from those three Norra attacks plus the TLT shot. Crazy little guy.
DON'T LET PALOB STEAL YOUR FOCUS TOKEN!!!!!
That was a crushing defeat by the hands of @theepum7. [Shudder]
This was the most recent Mynock Squadron 'bounty' - to deal 5 crits with Omega Ace in an official tournament. The guy who achieved it actually built a list that could deal 6 crits, so he could miss with one of his dice and still get the bounty.
His build was, if I remember right... Omega Ace with Swarm Leader, Youngster with Expose, a Shuttle Bomber with Fleet Officer and Systems Officer to hand Focus/TL to Omega Ace, and some TIEs for their Evade actions. An Exposed Swarm Leader Omega Ace at range 1 could get 6 crits.
6 crits with omega ace!
How, please.
I've been thinking of trying a similar thing, omega ace, 2 othe tie/fos and an upsilon. But with Dormitz so I can deploy fowards and deliver those 4 crits in a turn 1 alpha strike.
I tried something similar last night. My version was even more of a one-trick pony, and unfortunately my pony was obliterated before it got to pull off its trick. I'm going to try it again though.

Youngster's ability let's friendly ships use his equipped Elite upgrade, as long as it's one of the "Action" ones. Expose reduces your agility and increases your attack, so Omega Ace with Swarm Leader (up to two friendly ships can spend an evade token to add a die to your attack) with Expose from Youngster at range 1 rolls 6 dice. His ability let's him spend a target lock and a focus token (which he gets from the support shuttle) to cancel all of his dice results and turn them all to crits.

If you find the latest MYnock podcast the first 5 mins are talking to the guy who did it, explaining exactly how it worked.
And also that it was knowingly a one-trick pony that dealt 5 crits once then lost every game and went home.
Thanks, I just chek the FAQ and, for my surprisse, youngster can give his action-EPT to FO ties.
An insteeesting trick, maybe not to win, but very funny at least.

Minor quibble, Expose was there to let him get his 5 crits at Range 2-3 instead of just Range 1. Omega Ace can't "miss" with one of his dice, they're all turned to crits.
5 crits! Wow. If you can pull that off, I would imagine your opponent would get so salty.
So I'm not sure if the OP ran his list or not tonight, but I ran mine! My final list was:
Major Stridan with Fleet Officer and Systems Officer
Omega Ace with Swarm Leader
Tie Adv. Prototype with V1 title, Proton Rockets, and Guid. Chips x 2
My friend ran Fenn Rau, Talonbane Cobra, a PS 1 quadjumper and a PS1 Protectorate. Rau and Cobra had PTL and both Protectorates had the title.
I won pretty handily and I would love to say it was all the amazing combo of Stridan + crew and Omega Ace, but to be honest, I never got Omega Ace to work. I mean, I shot with him, but on said turn, my shuttle bumped and I had forgotten to do a green move anyway, so I couldn't give Omega Ace the prerequisite TL and F he needs to get his ability off. I did still shoot 5 shots into TC(after taking 3 damage from him) and got him down to 2 hull and my shuttle finished him off. His Protectorate finished off OA. But that was it. Traded Omega Ace for Talonbane Cobra on turn 1(of shooting) Not a bad trade, per se, (TC was 37 points, I think, and OA was 24) but not what I wanted. I did enjoy the list though and I'll be running it again soon. As Pops would say, "Good Show!"
Posted in battle reports but I played Omega Ace in Epic... the crits rained down on the Raider and the Tantive I faced in 2 consecutive games. Its insane how easy it was to do on turn 1 with Dormitz + Stridan both with Hyperwave~
Btw for your shuttle.. I'd recommend Pattern Analyzer for situations you need to do a zero to not bump or just to stay put really, so youll only get either your Fleet Officer action or Coordinate to TL
Took Omega Ace for a spin the other night on TTS. Backed up by Stridan+systems officer+Huxie and 2 Epsilons. Truth be told I was not able to pull off Omega's trick even once. However, that's probably my bad flying and poor target prioritization.
I will definitely fly it again.
I did fly my list tonight. Omega Ace's ability is difficult to pull off, and it's even harder to do it with Swarm Leader. I managed one 4 crit attack and one 2 crit attack. However, I somehow won the match against Rey/U-Wing/Sabine TIE without losing a ship (the Upsilon had 1 hull left and a couple of my TIEs were also hanging on by a thread. I do really like Hux for his ability to hand out 3 Focus tokens regularly - maybe I should change the meme to Focus tokens instead. TIEs with Evade tokens and focus tokens, and also sometimes target locks from systems officer are pretty awesome.
I think if I run this again I might try Hux on a Decimator (the Upsilon only got a couple of attacks in each match, and when it did the lack of dice mods usually saw poor results). I might even do something like Decimator/Swarm Leader/Hux and a bunch of TIE Fighters. I think that could be fun and potentially more effective than the Upsilon since the Decimator will be shooting a lot more.

I think a Chirpy Decimator with Swarm Leader could work. With Hux giving out Focus to two other ships(saving one and Fanatical Devotion for the Decimator) you could have a pretty potent offense and defense with 2 ties with focus and evades(if you don't spend them for swarm leader) Not a bad idea. I may use this next game. During my game, I kept bumping with my shuttle(my opponent was flying 2 ps1s and kept getting in my way!?) and never even used my Fleet Officer(Hux would have had the same issue). I might try to somehow work in an Advanced Sensor on my Upsilon next time to avoid losing my action due to reds or bumping.
What is that pic in the OP?

It's from this meme video of this guy cutting up some meat with really big flourishes. At the end he garnishes with salt, which OP has changed to crits. Link provided since you must live under a rock to have missed this one ![]()
